He serves as the main antagonist of Season 3 of the Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts, his goal being to obtain the Minecraft Game Icon in order to use its power to create a black hole powerful enough to completely eradicate Minecraft itself from existence, fueled by his immense hatred of the game due to his late son having been deleted due to a fatal error during a Minecraft simulation。

After realizing how much pain he caused to so many people both in and out of Minecraft, including 再臨者, the Fighting Stick Figures, their in-game allies and Purple most of all, King Orange understood that the full consequences of his actions and chose to instead start his life over again with Purple at his side, freeing him from his haunted past and bringing peace to him after so long。

歷史[]

早年生活[]

King Orange was originally a regular stick figure who had a son named Gold, his only known relative. In his younger years, he and Gold played at a playground. King Orange reminisced those good times as he and Gold went off to the town festival. However, Gold noticed an advertisement for a game called Minecraft and begged his father to let him play, so King Orange admitted him into a virtual reality booth which allowed someone to go directly into Minecraft itself. Gold enters a new world and while he is having fun, King Orange notices a red alarm go off as the programmers become panicked and try to shut the simulation down to an unforeseen glitch corrupting the game. Seeing the world decay around him, Gold manages to quit the game, but the doors to the virtual environment are locked and despite King Orange and the programmer's best attempts to pry them open, Gold is ultimately swallowed back into the game as it suffers a fatal error and crashes, taking Gold with it.

Obsession with destroying Minecraft, meeting Purple, and becoming the King[]

King Orange falls to his knees as his whole world crashes down around him, the only person in his life that mattered was gone. The programmers try to console him but he is immediately overtaken by a red wrath as he attacks them ruthlessly over the loss of his son. The next day, he is throwing knives at a poster of Minecraft in his house, feeling nothing but pure hatred for Minecraft for taking his son away as he throws a chair at the poster which breaks it as he begins punching it ruthlessly as he relives his son pleading for help as he was helpless to simply watch and unable to do anything to save him.

Despite his immense grief, King Orange is fueled by his eternal hatred of the game and devotes all of his time and energy to ultimately avenge his son; as Minecraft had taken his son from him, he would take everything away from Minecraft itself in retribution. Now obsessed with destroying Minecraft, King Orange begins studying everything about the game as well as other topics like vortexes and black holes. Ultimately, he realizes that to destroy Minecraft, he must use its own power against it and designs a staff and researching which blocks are the most powerful to fulfill the necessary requirements.

Eventually, he comes across the Command Block and believes it to be what he is looking for. Going to great lengths to obtain this block, such as secretly paying someone in a back alley for one, he attempts to enact his plan but fails due to the staff's failed design as he goes through different materials and models until he finally comes up with the right one and is successful in finally using the Command Block's power, but is only able to summon a single block of cobblestone.

Realizing the Command Block was too weak, King Orange moved on from the Minecraft Wiki and instead began reading into Mysteries which explains more unofficial characters, items and such that aren't necessarily part of the game's ruleset. This leads to him discovering a page which describes the Minecraft Game Icon: the most powerful item in Minecraft as it contains the entire codebase of the game itself and thus is the only thing capable of truly destroying Minecraft in its entirety. Having found exactly what he was looking for, King Orange reads all about the game icon and, to his frustration, realizes that the only thing about the icon that isn't mentioned is its location. Regardless, King Orange refuses to give up having come so close to avenging his son. He begins asking other stick figures if they know anything about where to find the Minecraft Game Icon, only to find the same answer from all of them: they didn't know.

Hitting a dead end, King Orange wanders the streets staring at the page until he walks by a TV store and sees the original Animation vs. Minecraft video, showing The Second Coming and his four friends, the Fighting Stick Figures discovering the Minecraft Game Icon on their home—Alan's desktop—and their fight against Herobrine who possessed Red. Shocked, King Orange realizes that the icon is in fact obtainable and begins asking if anyone knows the stick figures on the TV to no avail. He begins to put up posters asking people if they've seen the five stick figures all across town in hopes of finding any leads that can lead him to them and ultimately, to the game icon。

He is approached by Purple who tells King Orange he has met the gang before and showcases his abilities as well as the Elytra he obtained from his first adventure with them. Having no other leads, King Orange accepts Purple as his helper and leads him into a cave he dug under his house using the Command Block and Purple discovers the various blocks and systems that King Orange built underneath in order to obtain the game icon from the The Second Coming and others. Activating the Nether Portal, King Orange and Purple journey to a Bastion Remnant where, using the staff, he easily overpowers the Piglin Brutes and earns their loyalty by showcasing his power and giving them gold ingots.

With his plan now set into motion, King Orange creates a throne out of gold and other materials to assure he is able to control the mobs until he can obtain the game icon, but is then gifted by Purple his crown that he once wore when ruling over the villagers. Taking the crown, King Orange dons it and officially begins his quest to obtain the Minecraft Game Icon to finally avenge his beloved son, no matter the cost.

跑酷[]

King Orange makes his debut in this episode. He resides in a bastion remnant along with Piglin brutes. Purple later comes to his palace with the Pig revealing that Purple is helping King Orange. They later go into a room where they discuss their plans. After Green comes out of the parkour course, it was first revealed that King Orange wants to harness the power of the Minecraft App to be even more powerful. After that it was reported to him that Green has escaped the parkour course which made him very angry to the point where he set a not A.I. command on the Piglin brute making the mob featureless and empty. He later sends some Piglin brutes after Green and send Purple to ALANSPC. But then Green attacks Purple which leads to King Orange capturing Green. After he imprisoned Green in a cell near the Pig that was in a different cell. King Orange trapped Green with electrified bars so he couldn't bust out. However, he didn't trap the pig with electrified iron bars since the pig isn't like a player or a stick figure who can actually break blocks.

泰坦掠奪獸[]

When the three titan ravagers go to the village, King Orange sets a kill command on two titan ravagers that had tried to devour several villagers. after that, the villagers were satisfied. He goes to Blue and Yellow and requests the two to join him. Yellow accepts it while Blue seemingly doesn't want to but was convinced by Yellow. After that, King Orange created a portal leading to a throne room and took the two inside of it.

終極武器[]

Right after, King Orange, Yellow and Blue go into to the throne room. Mellohi by C418 is playing. King Orange instantly changes the map portrait on the wall from a portrait of him holding the staff with the Minecraft block in it to the Command Block staff to avoid revealing his plan to the two and welcomes them in. He gives Yellow and Blue crowns, but Blue is reluctant. King Orange gives Yellow a throne with a command block staff to persuade him. Blue recalls Purple doing the same thing to him and Green (from Episode 9: Villagers) and refuses to take the crown, but he easily accepts it after Orange gave him a throne with nether warts.

Green and the Heroic Pig sneak out into the throne room but King Orange notices them and creates a wall with obsidian. He then breaks the blocks on the room but King Orange places down new blocks as quickly as Green broke them. Yellow and Blue react to King Orange placing blocks. Green activates a TNT block, damaging King Orange and exposes the room.

But King Orange has had enough. He takes out Mellohi, cracks his joints, inserts a Pigstep disc, then adjusts the room for a battle. Using his staff, he raises the ceiling and creates three cages, then prepares to fight Green, Yellow & Blue. Despite King Orange's obvious advantage with his command block, the three stick figures successfully defeat and corner King Orange. Unfortunately, their items and the Heroic Pig vanish due to the Minecraft Game Icon being taken out of ALANSPC. While the trio stood around in confusion, King Orange took the opportunity to retrieve his staff, beats them up, and throws the three inside of the cages.

While Red and Purple are fighting over the Minecraft Game Icon, King Orange grabs Red with his staff and throws him in a cage. Orange then throws his command block aside and inserts the Minecraft Game Icon into his staff, granting him enormous power. He created a massive explosive beam upwards killing some of his Piglin brute minions and destroying the ceiling. Purple attempts to take a turn with the staff, but is blasted away despite being promised they would share the power. King Orange then creates a black hole that begins consuming the Nether. Before he can continue, however, the Second Coming appears and slams into him. After the Second Coming frees the Fighting Stick Figures and arms them, King Orange hits him back and the two begin to fight.

Later on, Purple attempts to escape after noticing the Piglin Army is losing, however he is pinned down by Green and Yellow. He asks King Orange for help, but King Orange ignores him and continues to fight The Second Coming, showing he never cared about Purple.

King Orange continues to fight the Second Coming and tries preventing him from destroying the black hole, and in a last-ditch attempt, he used his Minecraft Game Icon to touch The Second Coming's Minecraft Game Icon and creates a massive explosion, sending both icons flying off. He falls into the throne room with nothing but his empty staff. His crown then fell off, signifying that he has become ultimately powerless. Pigstep then finished playing and popped out of the jukebox.

The Warden[]

King Orange awakens after being unconscious after his fight against The Second Coming. He quickly realizes that the Minecraft Game Icon fell out of his staff during the previous fight. He attempts to retrieve the block, but is stopped upon The Second Coming's arrival, now riding the Warden. The Warden begins to battle with King Orange. Despite gaining a boost of power via putting a gold block into his staff, King Orange ends up outclassed and defeated by the Warden. However, King Orange recovers, and sees the Minecraft Game Icon, preparing to fight his two adversaries once more.

Monster School[]

King Orange, now in possession of the Minecraft Game Icon again, attacks the Second Coming and the Warden. The Second Coming fights back with staff with a gold block equipped, however King Orange easily overpowers the duo with the Minecraft Game Icon and traps them both in Netherite blocks. He takes back his staff, throws the gold block away, and begins to reinsert the Minecraft Game Icon. Before he can, however, the staff is yanked from him by the spider, showing Red and his friends arrived.

Red reattaches the gold block back in the staff and prepares to fight, flanked by his new monster allies. King Orange shakes his head in rage and attacks Red. Red's monster allies battle against King Orange while Red tries to free the Warden and The Second Coming from the Netherite. He is unsuccessful and is knocked away by King Orange, luckily the Enderman appears and teleports both of them out.

During the fight, Red notices the Netherite blocks and inserts one in the staff. He strikes King Orange and sends him flying. Everyone celebrates while Red and The Second Coming hug. However, they hear a noise and turn around, showing King Orange now in possession of both Minecraft Game Icons.

The Raid[]

King Orange, now possessing two Minecraft Game Icons, attacks his enemies once. He uses the second icon to turn the nearby Netherite Blocks into large-scale weapons while summoning Dark Mobs, who were negative alter ego clones, of the Warden, Spider, Enderman, and Skeleton with the first. The heroes put up a fight, but amidst the chaos the Dark Mob Warden clone pins down Red, and King Orange yanks his staff back. Before he can do anything, however, the Titan Ravager erupts from the portal, with Blue and Yellow on its back. The Ravager easily destroys the shadow clones, and Blue, Yellow, Red, and the Second Coming throw their arms up in greeting.

The battle continues, with Yellow using the power of his new command block staff to counter King Orange's attacks and the others fending off the Dark Mobs that King Orange summons. Unfortunately, despite a hard-fought battle, the group is eventually defeated and pinned down by the shadow clones. King Orange takes back his staff once more from Red and flies up. He combines the two Minecraft Game Icons together until they fuse together, giving a pulsating black-and-white aura. He inserts the combined Minecraft Game Icon into his staff, and fires a massive power blast towards the top of the Nether, a sign of his victory.

Note Block Universe[]

The power blast created by the combined blocks created a even larger black hole, but as he was powering it, Purple hit King Orange with a rocket-powered punch, knocking him aside, which shocked the other stick figures, apart from Green. Purple then took King Orange's staff.

It is, depending on how you read the scene where Purple tells their backstory, debatably implied that King has some connection to Dark Blue, is viewed as a father figure by Purple, or has otherwise promised Purple to help them with their goal to seemingly find Dark Blue. The same could also be said for Purple and Gold.

The King[]

Aforementioned above, King Orange's backstory is revealed on his motives, due to the loss of his son over Minecraft.

Upon having his staff taken by Purple, he falls to the ground, and Purple destroys the Dark Mobs. He tries to get staff back, however, the heroes and their allies hold him down, while Purple unsuccessfully tries to destroy the black hole. After Yellow is distracted by the Titan Ravager, King Orange lunges and steals Yellow's staff. He overpowers the Fighting Stick Figures and takes his staff back from Purple, before destroying Yellow's staff and absorbing the command block. He continues to fight the others until Skellington is able to inform Herobrine about their battle, in which the latter then steps in to battle King Orange himself. During the ensuring battle, King Orange nearly absorbs him into his staff but he manages to escape and possess Red again, before creating another MegaStick. Despite this, King Orange overpowers him and sucks him into the staff before consuming the rest of the monster allies. He then continues feeding the black hole with his staff, further destroying Minecraft.

The stick figures attempt to battle on their own, but are subdued by the energy beam King Orange directs at them, which causes them to glitch and flicker. Purple decides to stand up to his former leader as he simply walks forward while King Orange directs the beam at him, slowly dissolving his body. Suddenly, King Orange has a flashback, viewing Purple as Gold, and drops his staff, rushing in to save Purple, as the two vanish in the beam.

King Orange then wakes up in an empty white void, before finding his house with nothing inside. He then finds an animation of himself and the events of losing Gold, and how he hurt so many people in his quest for revenge, to the point where he is essentially harming his son's memory in the process. He then realizes that he has gone too far, desperately striking the image of himself to make it stop. He ends up smashing the wall and finding Purple, as he then runs in to give him a hug. Purple sees him as Dark Blue at first before King Orange throws his arms around him, showing he has finally become the father figure Purple desired.

After the Nether is restored, King Orange and Purple are freed from the Minecraft Icon, as the King hands over his crown to Purple, who then hands it over to the Heroic Pig before the two leave. He also resurrects the monster allies, including the Titan Ravager's family and the Heroic Pig, before giving his staff to Yellow. In the credits sequence, King Orange can be seen at the playground with Purple by his side, possibly meaning that the two have become best friends, or that Purple has unofficially become King Orange's new son.

Actual Shorts[]

Ice Skating[]

King Orange reappears in this short alongside Purple, they both are ice skating, hence the short's name.

Fireworks[]

King Orange is represented by fireworks.

Appearance[]

King Orange is a tall, dark orange solid-headed stick figure who wears a crown, although he took it off in the Season 3 finale.

Personality[]

Starting from King Orange's first debut in Parkour, it is shown that he's a feared leader, as shown by setting a "No A.I." command on a Piglin Brute, who failed to stop Green from escaping. He recruited Purple and had him to do his bidding because of his obsession of the Minecraft Game Icon. He is also very tricky, making Blue and Yellow fellow "kings" when in reality he's keeping them in the Nether so that his plans wouldn't be exposed.

King Orange becomes even more ruthless the moment he obtains the Minecraft Game Icon. The first action he does when obtaining it was to blast the roof off his castle, killing several Piglin Brutes in the process, similar to The Dark Lord. He's also very greedy, as he betrays Purple from sharing the power of the Minecraft Game Icon with him. He also appears to be extremely arrogant, throwing less powerful but still useful tools away (example being a command block) and failing to account for how they could be used against him. He later realized this and destroyed the Netherite block Red used after reclaiming his staff to prevent it from being used against him.

Surprisingly, it is possible he may have a heart, or prefers to fight fair. While fighting Red and his monster allies, he did not kill any of them despite being able to easily do so with the Minecraft Game Icon. Furthermore, the Negative clones of the monsters only pinned down his enemies once they were defeated.[2]

King Orange also appears to have a taste for music, carrying around Pigstep and Mellohi in his inventory. It can be assumed he has more.

It is revealed that his motivation for all of his actions stems from his intense hatred of Minecraft itself due to his son, Gold, having been lost during an accidental collapse while playing in a Minecraft Booth at a town fair. This loss and pain grew so unbearable that King Orange wished to get even with the game that took his son by destroying the world of Minecraft entirely and thus erasing it from existence. It was only when Purple tried to stop him that he realized the error of his ways and helped right his wrongs.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Gold[]

Gold was his only known family member and the only person he cared for in life. Ever since he was very little, King Orange took his son to the playground and even as time went by, he still loved nothing more than playing with him and went to the city carnival with him as they went through multiple attractions but noticed he was drawn excitedly to a booth for a video game called Minecraft. Following his son inside, King Orange reassured his son as he entered the virtual reality machine despite his anxiety as he was transported into the game and all seemed well.

However, when an unknown glitch appeared and he noticed the computer engineers desperately trying to shut the machine down, the King was filled with dread as he realized his son was in danger and he attempted to escape when the glitch was consuming in. The King was panicked and tried with everything he had to help his son but was helpless to watch as the fatal error consumed him; the loss of his son was so unbearable and traumatic that the King felt his entire world crashing down around him before he was overtaken by an immeasurable wrath that he took out on the developers in blind violence before falling into despair as he realized the true reason for his son's loss was Minecraft itself.

King Orange's need to avenge his son was so great that it consumed his life as he spent all of his time, energy and money into finding a way to eradicate Minecraft for his son's sake. This led to him resorting to back alley trading, experimentation, enslaving Piglin Brutes and using Purple as a pawn for the sake of obtaining the Minecraft Game Icon, the only thing powerful enough to destroy Minecraft entirely, and causing a lot of trouble and pain for The Second Coming and The Fighting Stick Figures.

After obtaining the power of the block, the King wasted no time in creating a vortex to swallow Minecraft into oblivion and tried to destroy everyone who tried stopping him, including The Second Coming and the Fighting Stick Figures along with their Minecraft allies and even Herobrine. However, it wasn't until Purple tried standing up to him despite being blasted head on that the King began remembering how his son was consumed and realized he was doing the same thing to Purple now. Realizing that he subconsciously chose Purple because he reminded him of his son, the King dropped his power and rushed to try and save Purple as he was consumed by the vortex along with himself.

Inside the void, he found his house showing a representation of how he lost his son to the game and how he became so defined by hate that he attacked everything in Minecraft and all of its inhabitants, along with the gang who were trying to help them and even saw his son being attacked by himself which shocked him as he tried to stop his other self from hurting his son who transitioned to become Purple which showed him how wrong he was to do so many bad things to Purple after he lost his own father.

Purple[]

King Orange first came across Purple after he knocked on the door and showed King Orange the wanted poster of five stick figures, King Orange opens the door and is greeted by Purple, he shows King Orange what he is capable of and manages to convince King Orange to let Purple help him in his quest.

Abilities/Weapons[]

King Orange, while not part of the Fighting Stick Figures, seems to be just as physically capable and agile as them due to being a full-grown adult as opposed to the supposedly young adult to adolescent fighters, keeping Blue pinned to the ground with a single foot and dodging the Warden repeatedly. His combat skills are not exceptional, as he is shown to be defenseless without any source of power, but he's tricky, taking advantage of his opponents' weakness as shown when he was able to overwhelm Yellow, Green, and Blue by taking advantage of their loss of weapons, and as well as taking Yellow's staff by taking advantage of Yellow moving closer to King Orange. His main weapon and fighting style revolve around the use of his staff, making it the only way King Orange can fight effectively against the other stick figures.

Despite being a what-if scenario done by Green and Yellow playing with toys, King Orange was shown to be fighting against The Dark Lord with his virus bands while wielding the fused Minecraft Icon staff with neither yielding to each other's attacks, showing how along with the red stick figure, King Orange is one of the two most powerful enemies that The Second Coming and friends have ever faced.

According to an Alan and DJ's commentary on The Warden - AVM Shorts Episode 26, the staff extracts the power of the block it's holding and amplifies it towards the entity holding it. Its abilities vary depending on what block is being used:

  • King Orange's Fifth Staff
    • Command Block: Allows large speed manipulation of commands, allowing King Orange to build quickly, set certain properties on blocks and mobs, and manipulate objects. It is unknown if the commands have to first be memorized by the user before being usable, or if commands can be used and mastered instantly. (However, it can be assumed it is the latter.) However, given the precedent of very quick learning set by The Second Coming, it is unlikely that there would be much of a difference. It should be noted that the speed at which commands are inputted is slower than wielding the Minecraft Game Icon.
    • Minecraft Game Icon: The staff gives the user power over not only the original creation powers of the Minecraft Icon, but also seems to enhance its destructive powers as well. More info on superpowers here.
      • Fused Minecraft Game Icon: Combining two Minecraft Game Icons effectively doubled its original power, as shown when it was capable of firing a massive blast and create a enormous black hole several times larger then one created with a normal icon.
    • Gold Block: Harnessing gold turns the staff into an extremely effective bludgeon that's strong enough to break obsidian in a single strike and even deflect a Warden's attacks. Other notable effects of the gold block staff is a strong knockback effect, as well as the generation of shock-inducing electricity (possibly due to gold's exceptional ability as a conductor in real life, though this has no visible effect in battle).
    • Netherite Block: Putting a Netherite block in the staff turns it into a bludgeon like a gold block would, except much stronger. It's powerful enough to send those who normally shrug off powerful attacks flying as Red demonstrates by striking King Orange with it, even destroying several blocks in the way. In The Raid, it was shown to be capable of killing a Shadow Warden and a Shadow Titan Ravager in one hit. Due to the nature of Netherite, it gives off a powerful dark energy while swinging it.

  • King Orange has a similar color scheme to The Second Coming, who is sometimes also called Orange. Because of that, he may be sometimes confused with him, but there are also noticeable differences upon their appearance. King Orange has a duller shade of orange than The Second Coming. King Orange also has a body similar to the Fighting Stick Figures, where The Second Coming has a small solid circle head and rounded foot instead of big ring-shaped head and plain foot. Other than that, King Orange also wears a crown and is much taller than the other stick figures.
  • It took too long for Alan to figure out what color King Orange supposed to be. He was supposed to make him grey but the color blends on his background and he was also supposed to be light purple, but Alan thinks that it will just make people think he is Thanos, which he doesn't like.[3]
  • King Orange is the second tall stick figure, first one being Tutorial Blue & third one being Dark Blue.
  • His name was confirmed to be King Orange on Discord,[1] and he’s referred to as 「King Orange」 in AvG reactions and other official videos.
    • Despite this, his name is shown as just 「King」 in a command block used on him in The Raid.
  • Following the release of "The King", several people started referring to King Orange as simply Orange due to losing his status as king. However, "The Raid" confirms that King is his real name and he's never referred to as Orange in-universe or by Alan Becker or other important figures (at best some variations, like the Orange King or Giant Orange), and thus he shouldn't be referred to like this.
  • DJ from AvG Reacts starts to feel bad for King Orange after watching his backstory and was fully on the his side while watching the entire video.
