Animator vs. Animation Wiki

I personally have always been intrigued by the lore in Alan Becker's most iconic series, Animation vs. Minecraft and Animation vs. Animator. This is my way of trying to piece everything together based on his hours of videos and pages of info on this wiki. Some of this is obviously shown in videos, while others is just my speculation. I just think it's fun to put the pieces together like an overarching jigsaw puzzle. Feel free to comment, this is a discussion and I'd love your feedback!

Locations[]

There are many iconic locations in the AvM and AvA universes. How do they all link? I aim to figure that out.

PCs, Desktops, and the Like[]

There have been a handful of certain computers where these adventures take place. The most common of these is ALANSPC, the "birthplace" of characters like victim, (AvA1) The Chosen One, (AvA2) The Dark Lord, (AvA3) and The Second Coming, (AvA4) all of whom are Alan's characters. These days, ALANSPC is where The Second Coming lives, works, and plays with the Stick Gang: Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue. The Chosen One returned to it in AvA5 (and AvA6) after he teamed up with The Dark Lord to destroy Alan's computer in AvA3. ALANSPC also has the Minecraft icon, giving the holder access to all the abilities available in Minecraft's Creative Mode: unlimited blocks, invulnerability, flight, etc. Stick figures can also visit other PCs by mailing themselves to those PC's using email addresses, (AvM Episode 25 - The Ultimate Weapon) by jumping through a Minecraft player's screen, (AvM Episode 24 - Lush Caves) which is how TSC and Red found their way onto Alexcrafter28's desktop, and through Nether Portals (AvM Episode 8 - The Nether and 9 - Villagers). One of those portals led to a Mac where Purple was once the King of a village, but was later overthrown by the villagers when the Ender Dragon wreaked havoc upon it.

Minecraft Realms and Biomes[]

Using the Minecraft icon, a stick figure can not only create, spawn, and place Minecraft blocks on a normal PC, (as well as spawn mobs and basically anything else) but create a Nether portal and become immersed in the Minecraft universe (AvM Episode 25 - The Ultimate Weapon). The Nether is a sort of the in-between in a sense, as while it is home to many iconic duels and moments, it has been used many times to go to various Overworld locations, and to other desktops, namely Purple's Mac and ALANSPC. There are many portals that lead to different locations in Minecraft: the Witch's swamp biome, (AvM Episode 21 - The Witch) the village that Blue and Yellow visited, (AvM Episode 23 - Titan Ravager, Episode 28 - The Raid and AvM Episode 32 - The Chef) the Monster School, (AvM Episode 27 - Monster School) a dripstone cave (AvM Episode 26 - The Warden) and the Note Block Universe (AvM Episode 29 - Note Block Universe). Nether portals can also be used to transport stick figures from the Outernet to Minecraft, and vice versa, as shown in Cherry Blossoms - An Actual Short. Purple can be seen gathering cherry blossoms from a cherry blossom tree and appears out of the portal in King Orange's basement, (Which confirms to me that King Orange and Purple are living together as father and son) so these two worlds--Minecraft and the Outernet--are connected in this sense. This is strengthened in another actual short, Ice Skating. When The King ended, Purple and King are seen on the park fence in the Outernet, but then are later seen ice skating in a snowy taiga biome in Minecraft. They had to get there somehow, (heck, they had to leave the Nether for that shot of them on the fence at the end of The King) and while it is not shown how they did, going through portals makes the most sense, especially since that's how the got to the Nether in the first place.

The Outernet[]

The Outernet is where most stick figures live, including the King, his late son, Gold, and now King's adopted son, Purple. It was also Purple's birthplace, born to two stick figures, Dark Blue and Pink. He grew up with his parents there (presumably) until his father left and mother passed. How Purple ended up as king of the village on the Mac is unclear. It was also the former headquarters of The Chosen One and The Dark Lord when they were on the same side, as well as where the two hollow-headed stick figures had their epic duel in AvA5 (With The Second Coming unlocking his hidden powers and finishing The Dark Lord once and for all). There is a large city where the stick figures live and work, which has been visited by The Chosen One when he was on the run from the Mercenaries. (AvA6) After The Chosen One returned to ALANSPC to get The Second Coming's help, the former dragged the latter back with him, with the Stick Gang following him. As explained earlier, the Outernet and Minecraft realm are connected by Nether portals, but the Outernet is also connected to PCs and desktops. The Chosen One had to force his way through to ALANSPC in AvA5, and as of now, that hole he punched is still there. This says to me that all three realms, Minecraft, the Outernet, and various PCs, are connected, and stick figures can travel between them.

Characters[]

Some characters are brimming with lore, notably because of their backstories and what they did.

Purple[]

Overview[]

Aside from being one of my personal favorite characters, Purple is overflowing with lore. His backstory is well-known at this point, as explained to Green in the AvM episode Note Block Universe, but there are some holes in his history. He was born and raised in the Outernet, like most other stick figures, but when his dad left and his mom passed, several questions remain. How did he end up on the Mac and become king of the villagers? How did he end up in the Nether in the first place? We might never know this, but it is fun to theorize and speculate. It has been shown that using Nether portals, sticks can travel to other Minecraft worlds and biomes, so this way of travel makes the most sense as to how Purple ended up in the Nether during his first appearance in AvM Episode 8 - The Nether. As for who built that portal, there is no way of knowing, but it is possible, as AvM Epsiode 30 - The King showed King Orange buying a command block in a shady back alley, so is it possible to bring Minecraft blocks into the Outernet. Is it possible that someone took obsidian and a flint and steel to the Outernet and built a portal? I'd say so, and it makes the most sense to me how Purple got to the Nether, and perhaps stumbled upon the portal that led to the Mac where he reigned over the village. Again, it is impossible to know who built these portals, not just the one to the Mac, but also the other eight that led to different dimensions, like the Skyblock and the Killer Bunny's mansion, but someone had to have built them. Nether portals do not simply spawn randomly, and the cobblestone paths leading up to these portals imply that they were constructed by some builder, or maybe builders, but it is unknown who they are/were. At this point, they could be anyone from actual Minecraft players, like Alexcrafter28, to actual stick figures, to villagers, who have been shown capable of building and fighting.

Motivation[]

Even before this, something that has been banging around in my head recently is Purple's motivation. At first glance, this is an open-and-shut case: he has been doing what he has done to get Dark Blue back. But, considering what we know about Dark Blue, this brings up another question: Why? Why does/did Purple want Dark Blue back in his life, despite everything that Dark Blue did to him? Well, there are a couple reasons that stand out.

  1. Family ties. Even though Dark Blue showed no remorse for leaving his family, Purple, while telling his backstory, shows that he reaches out to him, begging him to stop. This says to me that Purple still cares for and loves his father, and I imagine Purple promised that he would train harder to please him, though these pleas would fall on deaf ears. To put it simply, Purple still loves his birth father (or, at the very least, he did at one point) and thus did everything to bring him back.
  2. To make his father proud. Going off of that last point is the major driving force that Purple had: the desire to please his father. After Dark Blue left, Purple was determined to prove to him what he could do. He could become king of a village, he could bring home the Ender Dragon egg, he could live up to his father's standards, but this pursuit went about as well as finding the end of a perfect circle. It never ended, and it seemed like nothing he did could please Dark Blue. He wanted to prove to his father that he could live up to expectations, hence his pursuit of Dark Blue.
  3. Loneliness. After Purple lost both parents, he was left alone, without family. Losing two people you love in such a short amount of time is--to say the least--hard to swallow, so Purple pushed himself to get what he thought would bring healing: getting his family back. He so desperately wanted a father figure, so he went above and beyond to get Dark Blue in his life. Thankfully, he found healing with a newfound relationship with King Orange, but before that, Purple was left pursuing a man who had no interest in his life.

While these do make sense, and I would say they contribute to Purple's motivation, there is another reason I want to bring up: guilt. I imagine Purple was feeling an immeasurable amount of guilt after Dark Blue left. Think about it, Dark Blue left because he deemed Purple as weak and inept. This probably sparked a flood of "What ifs" and "If onlys" in Purple's mind. "If only I had been a better fighter... What if I had trained harder...? Maybe Dad would've stayed if only I could've pleased him..." Purple even tried to convince his father to stay, only for his cries to be unsuccessful. I imagine Purple blamed himself for his father's departure, and having his mother pass away would make his grief even deeper. Filled with guilt and blaming of himself, Purple would do anything he could to fix "his mistake," (I use quotes because I am aware it wasn't his fault, but I suspect Purple was not thinking clearly and was instead overtaken by guilt, causing him to believe that he was at fault for his father's departure) only for none of it to work, and when King betrayed Purple in The Ultimate Weapon, all of this guilt and pain finally boiled over, and he would eventually get so broken that he could not run away any more. (Somewhat like a machine. Break it enough, and it will stop running) His heart in a million pieces, he confessed his story to Green, who accepted him as a friend, and later on, a member of the Stick Gang family, as well as King's family.

Now, all of this is not to say that Dark Blue was right, in case that wasn't clear. I don't think I'm burning many bridges when I say that Dark Blue is a scumbag for leaving his family. And I must also add that this is all speculation. None of this has been confirmed or denied by Alan himself. This is all my personal head cannon, based on what we know about Purple and what I know about myself looking back at the darkest point of my life up to now. (I can relate to Purple in a way. Though I cannot say I've lost both parents yet, I know the pain and heartbreak of abandonment and loneliness, especially as an introvert who prefers board games to a raucous party. It hurts, and thankfully, like Purple, I am in a much better place) This is what I has been knocking around in my head, and I wanted to share it with the world in case anyone is curious. But, to put it simply, I think the motivation for Purple to get his father back in his life was a mix of family bonds, the desire to please his dad, the pain of loneliness, a heart shattered into pieces, and a flood of guilt and blame that only getting a father back could heal. I'm glad King is in his life to help with that healing.

AvLoL[]

There is another question concerning Purple I want to mention: How did he end up on ALANSPC during the Animation vs. League of Legends episode? Purple is clearly seen tampering with the game and creating clones of himself, but how did he get there in the first place? There are several ways to reach a desktop: through a Nether portal, emailing oneself to another desktop, and by forcing oneself through by essentially punching a hole in the sky a la The Chosen One in AvA5. The last option seems the most unlikely, as aside from his Elytra, (and that might be a stretch) Purple does not have any superpowers that could make him capable of doing what The Chosen One did, lasering a hole in the sky. Purple could have emailed himself, considering The Second Coming and his friends were there in the village when Purple got overthrown, so he could've snuck in undetected, but in order to do that, he needed to know Alan Becker's email. This is a key piece of information that Purple does not have. Even to this day, Purple and Alan have yet to meet, at least onscreen. The closest they have come to crossing paths is in AvLoL, but even then, Alan left his computer and his sticks were the ones playing LoL. This leaves Nether portals, and to me, this is the most likely. Purple got overthrown, this we all know, but what happened to him afterwards is a mystery. My theory is that he returned to the Nether, dejected, and noticed The Second Coming return home while Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue went to the Skyblock universe. Either that or he saw TSC leaving the portal to help his friends and decided to essentially slip in through the portal while everyone else was gone during the remainder of AvM Season 1. I suspect that Purple snuck in during AvM Season 1, as AvLoL took place after AvM Season 1 given that Green and Blue had flashbacks of their first meeting with him, becoming co-kings and fighting the Ender Dragon. It also could not have happened after AvM Season 1, as TSC and his friends promptly destroyed the Nether portal shortly after they all returned home, (AvM Episode 14 - Cave Spider Roller Coaster) and remained on ALANSPC throughout AvM Season 2 and up until AvM Episode 20 - The Piglin War when Blue rebuilt the portal to get Netherwarts after exhausting his supply. My personal canon: Purple snuck onto ALANSPC during AvM Season 1, (Sometime between episodes 10 and 14) and stayed there out of sight until AvLoL. Afterwards, he returned to the Outernet where he would meet King Orange, and the rest, as they say, is history. I must admit I do not know why he remained hidden for so long, and my analysis is far from perfect, but it's just something to chew on for anyone who wants to read this.

While on the topic of League, there is something else I want to mention about Purple. I have seen it suggested that Purple wanted to get revenge against the Stick Gang for his upheaval. I personally don't see it that way. I don't think Purple was out for revenge. He was motivated, like most of his time in Minecraft, to please his father. The reason why I think this is Purple's reaction after his loss. He isn't angry or frustrated or anything of that nature. He's just distraught, sulking in a corner. This doesn't look like someone who is out for revenge, this is someone who is broken. If my earlier theory about him feeling guilty about losing Dark Blue is correct, I can only imagine the thoughts flooding his mind after this defeat. "Maybe dad was right. I am weak." "I was this close, but I couldn't bring it home." "Even when I am overpowered, I can't succeed." "I've lost you, dad." Thoughts like these pounding one's brain nonstop is enough to cripple a guy, and an already broken stick like Purple... Yeah, safe to say, things are going from bad to worse for the poor guy. Purple crouched in a corner doesn't scream to me, "revenge tour," it's just a guy trying desperately to please his dad, and ultimately being unsuccessful. Though the Stick Gang were more than gracious, allowing him a spot on the team, their approval was never Purple's aim. His aim was his dad, the driving factor for almost everything he does until he went home with King.

Relationship with Green[]

There is one more thing about Purple that I wanted to write about. I have seen a handful of people ship him and Green, especially after the short Piggie Love. If you do, that's cool, more power to you, but I disagree with you about shipping them. I simply think that Green and Purple are simply close friends with a long history together. Green, along with Blue, were the first two of the main five to meet Purple formally in AvM Episode 9 - Villagers and the three of them went to The End together to try and take down the Ender Dragon the episode after. When playing League of Legends, Green was the one who had the flashback of when he and Blue met Purple for the first time, and after the Stick Gang took him and his clones down, it was Green who called for Purple to join them when The Second Coming duplicated himself and took on the opposing team. This bond is strengthened in AvM Season 3. Green saw Purple kidnap the Heroic Pig and was the first to confront him about his betrayal to the Gang (AvM Episode 22 - Parkour). Green and Yellow hooked Purple down, only for Purple to escape, and despite Yellow's insistence otherwise, Green chased him down to the Note Block Universe, where due to Green's persistence, Purple finally confessed his story, breaking down in tears afterwards. Green then gave Purple something the latter had been desiring since Dark Blue left: acceptance. Everything Purple had been doing up to that point was to please his father, and later on, King Orange, but Dark Blue saw him as an incompetent fighter and King only saw him as a pawn for his scheme. Green was the first to accept him for who he is: a broken soul who was desperate for help, and desperate for someone who wouldn't leave him. Green also forgave Purple on behalf of his friends, TSC and the rest of the Gang, and later on, the whole gang would gather and embrace Purple. I can understand why people would pair Green and Purple, considering that the two of them have a long history together, and Purple even confessed his story to him, something not easy to do (especially to someone he betrayed twice) considering how much pain he has been through. I can only imagine heartbreak he must've felt reliving and retelling that to Green. However, I stand by the fact that I think the two are just good friends, as to me, there are no true signs of a relationship between them other than a casual friendly relationship. To me, there just isn't enough to convince me the two are a pair. A pair of friends? Sure. But shipping them? I can see why someone would, but I don't ship them. But, that's my opinion.

The Second Coming and the Fighting Stick Figures[]

The main quintet of characters don't have a lot of unknown over them, considering every AvM episode and AvA starting in AvA4 featured some combination of them in some way, usually featuring all five. Their history is very well-known, with TSC being Alan's fourth creation after victim, The Chosen One and The Dark Lord and the Stick Gang being characters on a website whom TSC befriended immediately after their first encounter. They have been tightly knit ever since, and are practically the mascots of the Animation vs. series. Their personalities are well flushed out, as well as their relationships with each other and with other characters like Purple and villagers. Like I said, unlike Purple, there is little mystery about them. They're just five great friends with their own distinct personalities that play off one another. Every piece of lore surrounding them can be traced back to their episodes, mostly in AvM. However, there is one thing that has not been explained yet: How did The Second Coming get his powers at the end of AvA5? Where did they come from? Was he born with them, much like his three predecessors, but unlike them, he just never knew it? This to me makes the most sense. He simply never knew he had superpowers, and as of now, he is still unaware of them. In AvA6, The Chosen One goes to him for help dealing with the Mercenaries, and while TSC is willing to help and try, he shows he does not remember unlocking his power, and openly tells TCO that he can't (Heck, Red, Blue, Yellow, and Green try to do the same before TSC is kidnapped by TCO). As of now, before AvA6 Part 2 has been released, TCO is the only one to witness and remember TSC unlocking his ultimate form, since the Stick Gang was dead, killed by The Dark Lord's blade, and Alan's connection got lost due to the Virabots. Also, how does TSC unlock his superpowers? I have seen it suggested on this Wiki that severe trauma can spark it, and seeing his friends get murdered in front of him is evidence for this claim, especially considering how protective TSC is of them and how much he cares for them. But this does not really explain TSC seeing his friends get deleted in AvA4 and not shooting lasers from his eyes or gaining telekinesis. Granted, in AvA4, there are flash frames of him turning into TCO, but he doesn't go full blown Superman the way he does in AvA5. Perhaps seeing his friends get impaled by a weapon resembling the Energy Sword from the Halo video game franchise and then disintegrated, compared to simply vanishing into nothingness, would build enough trauma to trigger TSC's hidden powers. There definitely is some weight to this claim, don't get me wrong, but is there enough evidence for it? Perhaps we'll see more as AvA6 progresses. I tell you this, I am looking forward to that.

The Box aftermath[]

The biggest reveal involving the Stick Gang from the episode The Box is TSC's superpowers. To us viewers, this is nothing new. We have known about them since AvA5, but to TSC himself, this is mind-blowing, and it shows considering his reaction. He just looks at his hands as if to say, "Did I really just do that?" This revelation is not just new to him, but also to victim and everyone else who witnessed it, resulting in TSC going into lockdown. However, TSC does not seem to know how to access it, but victim and his allies don't know that. There is also an Actual Short involving TSC's powers, that being Kirby. Funny enough, the only two sticks to witness Kirby's newfound laser vision were TSC himself and Yellow, and both of them it seems will play a critical role in the next installments of AvA6. TSC is the main character, of course, and Yellow is victim's ticket to revenge against Alan, since Yellow can bring Alan into their world. Obviously, both of them shrugged off Kirby's laser vision, not fully understanding it at the time, but now TSC knows. None of his friends are aware, though Yellow might have the most "knowledge" of it. The two of them are going to be key players in the AvA6 story, and speaking of that story, TSC seems to be the only one who can use the pencil icon. Why is that? Why were victim's workers unable to draw the eel the way TSC did? I'm not sure. Perhaps future installments will shed some more light on this, but I am looking forward to Yellow's role in this series, mostly since he's my favorite character. I'm excited to see what happens next, and what lore drops.

victim[]

While on the topic of AvA6, there has to be a discussion about victim. Admittedly, I had no idea about victim's existence until AvA6. After that, I rewatched the original AvA episodes, which are still bangers, but never grabbed my attention until that moment. Anyway, there is a lot to discuss about victim. Alan's original creation was seemingly deleted after Alan decided not to save his work, and therefore, the chaos victim started. However, clearly, he survived, and is now running an organization we know very little about, at least for now. Much like his organization, very little in known about victim himself, having practically vanished off the face of the Earth after his first appearance in June, 2006 (17 years ago. Writing that makes me feel old). He is shown in his first appearance to have a vendetta against his creator, much like his immediate predecessor, The Chosen One, but unlike TCO, victim is not shown to have superpowers, the only one of Alan's creations to not have superpowers. It is unknown why victim has a grudge against Alan, as the stick figure was hostile practically right out of the gate, trying to escape his animated box seconds after his creation and soon breaking free and having a battle with Alan before the latter closes the window without saving, seemingly deleting him before his reappearance 16 years later. This raises even more questions. How did victim survive? Where has he been all this time? How did he become the boss of his organization? Speaking of, there is a fair bit to say about what his role is in AvA6. He seems to be the overarching antagonist, considering the mercenaries went to him immediately after capturing TCO and The Second Coming, victim's (presumably) only living predecessors, might I add. (I say presumably because The Dark Lord was seemingly killed by TSC, but we are not shown a deceased body, just a massive explosion in the distance near the end AvA5) What does victim want with TSC and TCO? Where did these mercenaries come from? What is his overall goal? I suspect that victim, like TSC in AvA4, proved to be too resistant to be deleted, and somehow escaped, though how he did I cannot explain. I'd imagine we fans will learn more about victim in future installments of AvA6, and hopefully we'll learn some answers in the episodes that follow. Until then, there are too many loose pieces to fit together cohesively, but I'm hoping that we'll piece this puzzle together soon enough (I also think it would be cool to bring AvM characters into this arc. It would be awesome to see the stick gang going to King Orange and Purple for help--yes, I'm biased and want to see more Purple, especially to build his newfound friendship with the Stick Gang and his son-father bond with King Orange--but I highly doubt that will happen. A guy can dream, though).

King Orange[]

Much like TSC and the Stick Gang, I don't have too much to say about King, despite him being probably my favorite antagonist in the Animation vs. series. The reason: there isn't a lot of unknown about him, since the episode bearing his name explains his backstory in very high detail (Props to Alan and his team for going so in-depth. They didn't have to, but they did, and I respect that). We are shown things like how he got his (now Yellow's) iconic staff, his hatred for Minecraft, how he met Purple, practically everything we as fans could ask for in terms of a "lore" perspective, and even at the very end of it, we are shown one last shot of King and Purple bonding and beginning a new father-son relationship between them (That's my personal favorite shot in the entirety of AvM. That one image to me shows two sticks mending their brokenness with each other's help. I absolutely love that). However, there is one unknown about King: his spouse. They are never shown, and only briefly brought up during the AvG reaction to it, when Alan admitted that King got together with "a very neon yellow," which, presumably, led to Gold's birth, and King's fatherhood starting (I'm speculating here. To me, it's not unreasonable to presume this. It makes logical sense to me, at least). This unknown "neon yellow" stick figure was never shown, not even through flashbacks, which makes me curious. What happened to them? We may never know the answer to this. Perhaps King and his spouse split up for some reason, (I'm not going to guess what reason that could be. It doesn't seem appropriate, if that makes sense. I'll let anyone reading hypothesize on that) and King got custody of his son, Gold. Perhaps King's spouse passed away when Gold was very, very young, leaving King to raise his son alone, as a single dad. Perhaps King is the adoptive single father of Gold, though this seems the most unlikely since Alan, during that aforementioned AvG reaction, heavily implied that King's spouse exists, or at the very least, existed. I doubt we are going to gain more info about King, since his arc is complete and as far as I can tell, is living life with Purple and both of them are happier than they've been in a while, but it is fun to theorize.

The Chosen One and The Dark Lord[]

These two characters share a lot of history together, much like Green and Purple in that sense, so I am going to talk about them together. Their backstory, like The Second Coming and the Stick Gang, is well known. The Chosen One was Alan's second creation after victim, first appearing in AvA2, and The Dark Lord was the third, appearing in AvA3. TCO, like victim, caused havoc until getting caught by Alan, who used him as an ad blocker until he got his freedom in AvA3, where he began creating chaos once again, prompting Alan to create The Dark Lord, giving him orders to kill TCO. As the two sticks dueled, TCO managed to get the upper hand, (which says to me that in a fair fight, TCO is the slightly better fighter, though TDL can hold his own, similar to TSC and Red's when they fought in AvM Episode 24 - Lush Caves) but seeing Alan casually playing Solitaire caused the two to unite and wreck Alan's computer. They escaped, as shown in AvA5, and wreaked havoc across the internet, but during this time, TDL's thirst for power and mayhem only grew, (eventually becoming practically unsatiable) while TCO became a lot more hesitant. I wonder what caused this change, especially since TCO had no problem with this during AvA2 and AvA3. Perhaps seeing what he was doing finally sunk into TCO's mind after a while. Perhaps he felt his friend going down an evil path and realized he could not follow it. There's no telling, but no matter the reason, a rift began to form between the two. The two former allies officially found themselves on opposite sides when TDL created the ViraBot and launched it at Alan's computer. TCO defeated it, saving TSC and the Gang, made amends with Alan, and returned to the Outernet to defeat his old friend TDL, but it was TDL who pinned him down with the help of the ViraBots, and was about to send them through the biggest websites on Earth, but was ultimately defeated by TSC. As of now, it is unknown of TDL's current status, but I believe that he is dead, defeated by TSC unlocking his true potential. However, Alan has not confirmed or denied this, so it is possible that TDL survived. Considering TDL's durability, and also the fact we never saw his lifeless body or anything like that, I would not be too surprised to see him return in AvA6 or something like that (Just imagine, all four of Alan's Sticks fighting each other: victim and TDL vs. TCO and TSC. Make that An Actual Short, Alan! Or, even better, incorporate that in AvA6! Please! That would be lit). However, to me, the most logical leap to make is TDL is dead, but as I said earlier, TDL being alive is not our of the question, not at all. As for TCO, the biggest question I have with him is, what became of him after AvA5 but before AvA6? (AvA5.5, if you will) The last shot of him in AvA5 is him watching Alan take TSC and the Gang home after TDL's defeat, and TCO ended up in the Outernet's city somehow. I'm curious as to what happened before that. Did he fly himself over to the explosion, just to make sure TDL was truly dead? Did he try to live a normal life, living among the Internet sticks in the city? When did victim and the Mercenaries start hunting him down? Perhaps this will be more thoroughly explained as AvA6 continues, but there is no way of knowing. My personal head cannon, and the one I want to believe the most, is this: He investigated TDL's explosion to see if he's there, only to find no body, possibly hinting that TDL is still alive and kicking, hungry for revenge. With this knowledge, TCO went into hiding, living among the sticks in the city, trying to blend in, until the events of AvA6, when the Mercenaries hunted him down and captured him and TSC. I do not think TDL is still alive, but seeing all four of Alan's sticks together, along with Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue, would be awesome, way more awesome than TDL being completely dead.

Timeline by a Fan[]

Yes, I am aware that an actual page with a timeline exists, and it is very extensive and well-made. However, that doesn't stop me from trying to create my own timeline. There will be some speculation, and some leaps in logic, but I am going to do my best to further explain how all these events combine. Keep in mind, this is not definitive, and the placings of many of these events should be taken with a grain of salt, but I think it's fun to speculate and discuss what our own fan theories are. This blog is to stimulate discussion. That's what I hope to do with this timeline.

  • Unspecified: Gold is born to King Orange and his unknown spouse. This is my first official "reach," and it probably won't be the last, but it makes the most sense to me that Gold was born in the Outernet sometime between AvA1 and AvA2. Judging by his height at the time of his death, Gold appears to be about Purple's age at the time when Purple met King Orange. Considering the timelapse we see from Purple in AvM Episode 29, Purple is clearly not a kid any more. He is quickly approaching adulthood, perhaps a mid-to-late teen when he met King for the first time. I figure that Gold was around that age during his last night with his father, but I imagine that Gold is older than Purple since some time passed (allowing Purple to age a bit more) between Gold's death and Purple meeting King.
  • Unspecified: Purple is born to Dark Blue and Pink. This is admittedly another stretch, but I can't imagine Gold and Purple to be that far apart in terms of age, considering how much Purple reminded King of the latter's late son. They also appear to be about the same height, so it makes sense to me that the two are relatively close in age. I know, I know, height does not determine age, as Purple is shown surpassing his mom in height when he told Green his backstory, (AvM Episode 29) but the similarities between Gold and Purple, plus King's memories of his son in Purple say to me that they are close in age.

  • Unspecified: Dark Blue leaves his family, Purple and Pink, seeing Purple as an incompetent fighter. Pink would pass soon after, leaving Purple alone. I must admit, this could go anywhere in the AvM timeline, but I think here is fair. Dark Blue has left, Pink has gone, and Purple had some time to mourn before becoming king of the village soon after. I will admit, how Purple found out about Minecraft in the first place is murky to me. I would imagine he learned about it after the original AvM, but it is unclear.

  • Unspecified: With no family left, save for Dark Blue, Purple would relentlessly try to please his father, to prove himself worthy to his dad. (My interpretation) He would eventually stumble upon a Nether Portal in the Outernet, taking him to the Nether, where he found a portal to the village on the Mac, where he would soon become king, something he thought would make Dark Blue proud. Purple is clearly not a spring chicken any more. His timelapse during AvM Episode 29 implies that he is not a kid, more like a teenager at youngest. (If I had to put an age on Purple at this point, I'd say 13 or 14 years old)

    • During this time, Purple would get overthrown as king of the village, and he would witness TSC leaving his portal when he rushed to save his friends from the Skyblock situation. Purple would then sneak onto ALANSPC while the Stick Gang were gone and would remain hidden until AvLoL. More speculation, but it makes the most sense to me.
  • Unspecified: The events of AvLoL take place. Purple reveals himself, but despite the Stick Gang trying to cheer him up, even allowing him a spot on their team against TSC, he would soon leave ALANSPC and return to the Outernet. I suspect Purple was still looking to gain his father's approval rather than acceptance from a bunch of random stick figures, two of which seemingly tried to usurp him when he was king. • This would lead to King pouring over books about Minecraft, vortexes, and black holes, determined to destroy the game. Over the time, he would create his iconic staff, learn about the Stick Gang, and meet Purple for the first time. They would go into the Nether and assemble a legion of Piglins to help with their plan, while Purple gives King Orange his crown. Afterwards, over time, Purple saw King as a father figure and was determined to make him proud, if only to indirectly make Dark Blue proud.

The (unofficial) Story of the Animation vs. Franchise[]

It all started even before victim was created. A child named Gold would be born would be born to King Orange and his unknown spouse. Considering very little is known about King's significant other, it is safe to assume that King raised Gold as a single dad (At least, that's what I personally assume). Not long after, two stick figures named Dark Blue and Pink would themselves have a son named Purple. Their stories would be critical at various points later on.

In June 2006, Alan would hop on his PC and create victim. a stick figure that immediately would cause mayhem on Alan's computer. The two would have a fight, and when it seemed like victim had the upper hand, even creating copies of himself, Alan would close window, seemingly ending victim's story, and for 17 years, this was the case, but not any more.

A year later, in June 2007, Alan would make his second creation and name it The Chosen One. Like victim, he would also cause havoc on Alan's PC. though with TCO's superpowers, he would be even harder to defeat. Nonetheless, Alan managed to catch him and would thereafter use him as a popup blocker for the next several years when browsing the internet.

Around this time was Purple's training with his dad. Despite Purple being so young, Dark Blue would relentlessly push him, demanding more than what should be expected from a young lad. Pink would continuously protect Purple and tell Dark Blue to tone it down, but sadly, he never did. However, at this point, the tension between Dark Blue and his family was not at its breaking point... yet.

Time passed, and in 2011, TCO would free himself from and once again cause chaos on Alan's PC, prompting him to make another stick figure to defeat TCO, naming this new stick figure The Dark Lord. The two would battle it out, and TCO would pin his adversary in a corner, but seeing Alan nonchalantly playing Solitaire made them realize they have a common enemy. The sticks would team up and destroy Alan's computer, resulting in a fried motherboard and blue screen of death for Alan, and the stick fighters would escape.

After their escape, TCO and TDL would wreak havoc across the internet, and would do so for several years. TDL's bloodlust would only grow more and more insatiable as time passed, while TCO went in the opposite direction, becoming more and more hesitant. Whatever caused this change in unknown, but I suspect that at one point, TCO realized what he and TDL were doing and decided that despite being friends, he could not follow TDL in his path of destruction.

Between AvA3 and AvA4, nothing of note would happen, outside of TCO's and TDL's reign of terror. However, I would imagine at this time, Purple would learn about Minecraft, as well as League of Legends. LoL came out in 2009, and Minecraft two years later. Considering how new they were at the time, and considering Purple's proficiency in both games, it would make sense that he would come to know of them and possibly play them in between training sessions with his dad. That would explain how Purple could create the ultimate Champion in AvLoL, and be aware of Nether Portals and villages, eventually becoming village king in AvM.

Three years after AvA3, Alan would create another stick figure, The Second Coming, which like its predecessors, would come alive. He would meet his friends, Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue, and have fun until Alan saw them making mischief and deleted them one by one. The Second Coming and Alan would have a duel, which ended when the two came to an agreement: TSC would help Alan animate and Alan would let TSC free, after reviving the rest of the Gang. They would remain friends ever since.
