"The Disintegration", also known as "The Disappearance" or "The Decimation", was a day-long battle between the citizens of Newgrounds and the superpowered stick figures The Dark Lord and The Chosen One during their rampage through the internet. The battle caused many denizens of Newgrounds to be erased and killed, including victim's lover Mitsi.

History

Newgrounds was the site where many animations were uploaded to be shown off to the world, and was where many citizens were uploaded to before being brought to the Outernet. Mitsi and Agent were two of many who were uploaded to Newgrounds.

Battle

In 2011, after The Chosen One and The Dark Lord escaped noogai3's computer and on their quest to destroy the Internet, they ended up at their final target website: Newgrounds.

The two entered the realm, supposedly via the main wire system, and began destroying major pages in the city, causing many citizens of the Outernet to be suddenly teleported back to Newgrounds due to the destruction of their original uploads. During the battle, TDL and TCO were met with minimal resistance, with Newgrounds' only line of defense being the Tankmen and civilians willing to fight. The city's high-rise structures were destroyed by fireballs and the entire area was set ablaze.

During this fight, Mitsi was be transported from the Outernet to Newgrounds, along with Agent.

Agent was brought away the enemy line by Sergeant John "Tankman" Captain, while Mitsi stayed behind to assist a few Newgrounders trapped under rubble. While she was in the middle of trying to assist the escaping Newgrounders, one of the many fireballs raining down struck the Tankmen's line of tanks, unleashing a shockwave and causing debris and rubble to rain down on the defensive line. As the dust cleared, Mitsi found herself pinned down under a piece of rubble. As fireballs began to strike the ground behind Mitsi, Agent would react and try to rescue her. However, he was too late, as one of the fireballs landed on top of her, killing her instantly.

Once the barrage ended, The Chosen One slowly flew down, surveying the destruction beneath him while Agent retreated into the cloud of smoke. The Chosen One would be followed closely behind by The Dark Lord, who offered him a high-five, which The Chosen One reluctantly reciprocated. The Dark Lord would then start up the attack once again as Agent and the surviving Newgrounders evacuated the site by a small portal leading back to the Outernet.

At some point, The Dark Lord nearly kills an Enemy Tankman (Not Tim) on right of one of the tanks, with The Chosen One trying to convince The Dark Lord to stop.

Aftermath

The aftermath of the battle resulted in Newgrounds being completely decimated and set ablaze by The Dark Lord and The Chosen One. Survivors of the Disintegration, having only seen The Chosen One during the event and not The Dark Lord, claimed he was the main culprit, describing him as the "Angel of Death".

Shortly after escaping, a now shaken Agent would return to the Rocket Co. Headquarters, where he'd be taken in the memory scanner room. There, victim would be waiting. Relieved to see him alive, he would strap him to the scanner and viewed his memories, which is where he would finally see the death of his beloved Mitsi, alongside her supposed killer. This event would be the catalyst for victim's future actions, as he would become a shell of his former self after witnessing this.

Trivia

• This is the first animated depiction of the wrath on the Internet caused by The Dark Lord and The Chosen One.
• This event shows that when animations are teleported back to Newgrounds, they disappear in a flash of green sparks.
• Many famous Newgrounds series characters are seen either evacuating or fighting. Some of the more notable ones include the following:
  • The Tankmen, the "main faces" of Newgrounds and stars of their titular animated series, seen being the main defensive forces.
  • An unidentifiable Nevadean, (presumably Hank) from the Madness Combat series, shown fighting alongside the Tankmen.
  • Pico, shown to be in his art-style from his first appearance in Pico's School, fighting alongside the Tankmen.
  • Nabi and Doki, from the animation There She Is!!, shown getting helped from escaping the rubble by Mitsi.
• Purple's family is seen during the battle evacuating the battleground.
