Animator vs. Animation 4 is the 4th episode of the Animator vs. Animation Series, also being the 4th and final episode of Animator vs. Animation Season 1. The short animated film started as a Kickstarter project, first launched on July 10th, 2013[1]. The project successfully reached its funding goal by August 9th, 2014 and was released on October 2nd on the same year.
The plot follows noogai3 as he tries to stop his newly created stick figure from destroying his computer and his social life.
Synopsis[]
The struggle between a stick figure and its creator, a computer animator. In this fourth installment, the animator is finally shown in real life interacting with his computer monitor. The stick figure, resisting his tormentor, attacks his social life by hacking his Facebook account, traveling onto his iPhone via USB cord, and drawing animations of his own to dismantle the animation interface.[2]
Plot[]
Three years after the events of Animator vs. Animation 3, noogai3 (also known as Alan) is at his new computer animating an orange stick figure running in Adobe Flash, with Google Chrome opened on the left side of the screen with 2 tabs, showing Facebook and a "Stick Figure Fight" website. A Facebook chat popped out, revealing Darren Schwartz questioning the events of the previous installment that Alan just told him. Alan later revealed that due to The Chosen One and The Dark Lord destroying his computer, resulting in a blue screen of death, he had no choice but to get a new computer. He then continued his work, when Darren asked if he thinks a similar accident will happen again. Alan responded calmly, saying it had been 3 years up to that point and nothing happened. Their conversation had to cut off short as his wife calls him to come over.
Unknowingly by Alan, the orange stick figure slowly lowers his left leg, and then the rest of his body. He looks around, and sneaks his way behind the Facebook window. He peeked from behind and attempted to go in, before he heard a creak noise from the door. The orange stick figure quickly returns back to his initial position before Alan can notice. Alan quickly opens his chat, telling Darren he has to do the laundry soon and promised he'll talk to him again later.
As Alan quickly leaves the scene, the orange stick figure comically fell to the side of the window and instantly looked around. He giggles, knowing Alan will be gone for a while. He then leaps into the bouncy, trampoline-like chat bar. He looks up ahead, noticing a tab called "Stick Figure Fight" and attempted to open it. As he fell, he brushes off his arms and looks at his surroundings. A blue stick figure came through a door in front of the orange one and posed as though for a fight. The orange stick figure looked frightened until he sees the green stick figure came from behind him. The green and blue one ran towards each other and attacked each other. Orange sat down and watched. A yellow and red one came in and they all fought for a little bit. The orange one started practicing karate outside and then tried to find a way in. he jumps into the side and falls in.
The Fighting Stick Figures approach him. Orange thinks they still want to fight and looks ready to do so, but the green one shook his hand instead. They looked curious about what was outside, but were slightly afraid to do so, shoving each other so that they eventually all fell in a heap. The orange one came over and hopped through. The Fighting Stick Figures clapped and came outside too.
They all climb up and jump into Facebook and seem to throw a party. Green opens the emojis, and throws two of the not-so-happy emojis into the color setting in Adobe Flash which makes them happy. Alan comes back though and sees them. The orange and green one try to run away but Alan opens up Windows Task Manager and ends red. Now all of them are running away and orange tries to stop him. Alan ends blue in the meantime. Orange races to yellow but Alan ends him before he can. Orange races over and hugs Green but Alan ends him anyway. Orange falls to the ground. He had let his friends down, as Alan also ended all his emojis.
Alan started to end him. As he tries to, he sees in the Task Manager:
- Name: "TheSecondComing.exe"
- Description: "The Chosen One's Return"
He attempts to end him by ending a process but a popup appears and says: "The Second Coming is not responding". He attempts to close the program, but another popup appears and sends a message that the action cannot be completed because the program is too resistant from The Second Coming that says: "You ended my friends. Now I will end you." The Second Coming flickers between itself and usually disguises as The Chosen One who is mentioned.
He then runs to Alan's mailbox and likes a comment that says: "I give up on life. I'm not even gonna try any more." The person who sent the post threatened to unfriend Alan (or The Second Coming for what he liked as being considered "impersonation") for that by saying: "Wow insensitive, I might just unfriend you for that". Alan Becker comments back: "that wasnt me!!!" The Second Coming leaves to make some more hurtful comments to impersonate Alan Becker and he goes after The Second Coming:
- Alan Becker's account (impersonated by The Second Coming): "what a bunch of losers"
- Alan Becker's account: "winners****"
- Neil Rischl: "Groupon is doing an extra 10 dollars off today and tomorrow."
- Alan Becker's account (impersonated by The Second Coming): "go die"
- Alan Becker's account: "LIVE! LIVE!!"
- Alan Becker's account (impersonated by The Second Coming): "ugly"
- Alan Becker's account: "BEAUTIFUL!!"
- Mikko Kuosa: "Who wants me to stalk them in their sleep? Cuz I will."
- Alan Becker's account (impersonated by The Second Coming): "I DO!! I DO!!"
- Alan Becker's account: "NO I DON'T!! I DON'T!!"
- Alan Becker's account (last comment attempted to be added by The Second Coming): "your photography skills are like drinking straws, meaning they suc k"
After a few more comments, the last one being a picture of a sunset, Alan finally catches The Second Coming and tosses him around, just as he was about to finish making a hurtful comment but they accidentally open iTunes and The Second Coming downloads himself onto Alan's iPhone.
Alan scrambles to pick up his phone, only to find that Second Coming was nowhere to be seen. After searching for a while, Alan finally finds Second Coming's hiding spot in the phone, which is behind Snapchat, and The Second Coming starts to destroy his phone. He hops into Notes and writes: "catch me if you can... u monster". He hops out of notes and Alan, after he went out of notes, found his phone destroyed. Alan and The Second Coming have a chase through phone apps. Afterward, The Second Coming hops into the Dropbox and Alan goes after him. Alan looks around in the phone app for The Second Coming, but meanwhile, in the background, the computer sends a message: " "TheSecondComing.exe" was added to your Dropbox folder". Alan closes everything and checks the Dropbox and The Second Coming jumps out and punches him. The Second Coming opens Flash animator and he jumps toward Alan. Alan blocks it by making a block. The Second Coming hits the block, smashing it, and falls. Alan tosses him towards the toolbar and The Second Coming grabs the lasso tool and catches Alan's cursor. He slings it towards the other side of the screen before tying it the top of Flash. The Second Coming builds a laser gun and tries to shoot Alan's cursor. Alan makes the cursor dodge for a little while but The Second Coming grabs the other end of the string and pulls it as far as it can go so Alan can't move his cursor. The Second Coming shoots him with his gun to see if there is a final blow and Alan's cursor is destroyed and disappeared. Alan tries to move his cursor, but it doesn't work because it's gone.
The Second Coming now grabs the pencil tool and draws a stick figure. next he adds a few extra touches to make it look like a strong man. It looked amazing. Meanwhile, Alan was making a new cursor in the Control Panel. After he was done, he closed the Control Panel and saw what The Second Coming did. He created lots of animations to destroy Flash. He drew a woodpecker, an alligator, and a big guy. (Not to mention wings for himself.) Alan selected everything and was about to press delete. But then, he looked at his drawings. They were awful. Then he looked at The Second Coming's drawings. They were amazing. He decided not to delete them.
Meanwhile, the big guy grabbed his cursor and started punching it. Alan saw this and was forced to delete them. The Second Coming fell (as he had drawn himself wings) and Alan put him in a thin box. The Second Coming managed to escape, only to find himself put in a thicker box. Alan closed in the walls of the box so that The Second Coming could barely move. Alan moved his cursor closer toward the stick figure. Finally, The Second Coming said, "STOP!!" via a row of orange letters that appeared on the screen next to him.
Out loud, Alan said, "It… talks?" Alan and The Second Coming had a conversation:
- Alan: "you talk?"
- The Second Coming: "DON'T DELETE ME PLEASE"
- Alan: "I'm not gonna delete you. You need to calm down."
- The Second Coming: "you need to die"
- Alan: "Hey stick figure. You're a really good animator."
- The Second Coming: "what?"
- Alan: "If you help me animate, I'll let you free, as long as you don't wreck my computer."
- The Second Coming: "no"
- Alan: "Why not??"
- The Second Coming: "you ended my friends"
- Alan: "Oh."
Alan puts Facebook and Flash next to each other so The Second Coming could see. He switched into the Stick Figures Fight tab, clicked reload, and the Fighting Stick Figures are seen playing cards, until the red one sees The Second Coming. They all wave to him, and he says "when do we start?"
Five months later, we see Alan at his computer again, except this time, we see him animating with The Second Coming. He's animating a lot better this time. We see way better pictures around the computer, one that even has this: "taught by ". Once they finish the frame Alan types "good?" And The Second Coming nods and says "next frame please". They help each other draw an amazing winged horse. "let's watch it!" The stick figure hops on the play button and an animated film of a winged horse plays. "high five dude." Alan switches to the hand tool and they both high five. Then he says "break time!" Alan saves the animation and The Second Coming switches to the Fighting Stick Figures tab. There he knocks on the door (where he broke through before) and the green one let him in. everyone poses and green waves his hand like he's counting from 3 to 1 and they all start fighting. Everyone comes after The Second Coming but he wins the match. The Fighting Stick Figures (who are now on the ground, stunned) all clap for The Second Coming. They are happy. The Second Coming leaps into the air in triumph.

Trivia[]
- Contrary to the video, Alan used a Wacom Graphire 4 to animate the video, instead of the Wacom Intuos 4, which at time of recording, was his sister's.
- Her drawing tablet was handed over to Alan years after, before making the switch to the Huion KAMVAS GT-221 Pro.
- Unlike the previous installments, The Second Coming and the Fighting Stick Figures remained as the main cast for Animator vs. Animation Season 2 and its spin-off series going forward.
- This is the first installment in the Animator vs. Animation series to use a Windows 7 layout as ALANSPC's operating system.
- Additionally, this is also the first installment to show Alan's new computer after the events of Animator vs. Animation 3.
- Curiously, when his friends are deleted, The Second Coming begins glitching in rage and for a few instances, The Chosen One is seen in his place with his signature fireballs, befitting of The Second Coming being the spiritual successor of The Chosen One, despite him having secretly survived along with The Dark Lord.
- This is the third installment to show Alan using Adobe Flash as a plot device.
- Additionally, this is also the first installment to show him using Google Chrome and an Apple device, both of which are related to plot.
- sticksfight.com was a real functioning website by Alan Becker which serves as an easter egg, similar to StickSlavery.com. It showed an animated fight scene, and is not a real fighting game.
- As Adobe's Flash support came to an end after December 31st, 2020 and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player by January 12th, 2021[3], the website's animation is now unable to play, as the page requires Flash Player version 23.0.0 or higher to load properly. This applies to all Flash-required websites and games.
- As of February 2023, it is currently the fifth most viewed video in Alan Becker's YouTube channel after Cave Spider Roller Coaster, Animation vs. Minecraft, Animation vs. Minecraft Shorts Season 1, and Note Blocks.[4]
- It is the only one that is not related to Minecraft in any way.
- It is the last DeviantArt post that Alan Becker published.
- There is a Toy Story reference. When Alan comes back into his room, The Second Coming rushes back into his position as if he was in Toy Story.
- This is the second Animator vs. Animation episode where the stick figure created doesn't fight with the programs on ALANSPC, as they were all inanimate. The first was the original Animator vs. Animation, as victim never escaped the Flash window to then fight with the programs.
Errors[]
- When Green runs to Blue, his body isn't cut off.
- This error is fixed in the full Season 1 release and the sticksfight.com website.
- This similar thing happened in Ragdoll - An Actual Short.
- The first date shown on Alan's computer is "10/2/14", but after the time skip which is supposedly 5 months later, the date shown is "11/11/2013".
- This error is fixed in the full Season 1 release, with the new date being "3/2/15".
- When Alan pressed CTRL-ALT-DEL, it brought up Task Manager, not Windows Security Options.
- In Windows XP, pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL brings up Task Manager.
