The Second Coming、または選ばれし者の再臨[4]は、Animator vs. Animation franchise の主人公で、第4話にてFighting Stick Figuresと同時に初登場した。

橙は artificial stick figureの一人で、Alan Beckerによって2014年の10月、つまるところThe Chosen OneとThe Dark Lordが、古いコンピューターを破壊した3年後に創造されたキャラクターである。横のつながりとしては、the Fighting Stick Figures[5]がおり、橙は彼らのリーダーであり、橙を含めた5人の名称としてはスティックギャングズがある。[6]

橙は誕生した直後に、Sticksfight website というウェブサイトへアクセスし、ここでthe Fighting Stick Figuresの皆と親友に。しかしながら、これを見つけ、また前回のように自分のパソコンを壊されるのではないかと彼等を疑ったAlan Becker 氏によって、橙以外の全員が削除。しかしながら、橙のプロセス停止は失敗に終わり、更に橙は報復として、Alan Beckerのスマホやパソコンの破壊を試みるも、Alan氏によって四角形の中に閉じ込められて確保、その後Alan Beckerがウェブサイトの再読み込みで全員を復活させたため、最終的にAlan Becker氏と和解する。

その後は、Alan Beckerのアニメ制作を手伝ったり、一緒に遊んだりする友達となり、さらにその後、ViraBot なるコンピューターウイルスからAlanのパソコンを選ばれし者と共に守り、橙の力を見て感心したThe Chosen One と一緒に、Outernet へ行き、そこで宿敵、闇の帝王と戦うことになる。

しかしながら、闇の帝王はあまりにも強く、一時敗北。The Chosen OneやStick GangsをTDLに殺害されかけたりするも、 その時に過去のトラウマが原因か、橙が超能力を発動、闇の帝王に勝利する。

その出来事から暫く経ったある日のこと、 再び選ばれし者がAlan Becker氏のパソコンへ。しかしながら、今回は謎の棒人間たちによって選ばれし者の特殊能力弱体化されており、橙に助けを求める形に。橙は今回も例の超能力を発動し、謎の組織unknown organizationの手下である謎の棒人間たちを倒すも、なぜか橙は超能力発動時のことを覚えていなかった。そして今回もまたOuternet の世界へ行くことに。道中Mercenariesに追われたり、武器の不具合に見舞われたりするも、ペンツールを使い無事Mercenariesを撃退。しかしながら、その後"エージェント"なる謎の棒人間に捕らえられてしまう。

ある白い部屋で、橙と選ばれし者は様々な実験をさせられることに。そしてそれと同時に、エージェントの手下の白い科学者達がPencil Toolの解析を行う。 そしてまだ橙や選ばれし者は気づいていなかった、エージェントの正体がvictim、つまり第一作で登場した棒人間であることに...。

見た目[]

橙は10歳前半程度[7]の身長である。ただ、もともと橙の身長は他の棒人間達と同じぐらいだったものの、Animator vs. Animation 4以降、やや身長を下げられている。橙の体色の16進数コードは、AlanがDiscordで語ったところによると#FF6600。

普段、橙に"目"と呼べるものは描かれていないが、例の超能力発動時には描かれる。この特徴は、選ばれし者や闇の帝王(闇の帝王はバンド使用時のみ) にも存在する。

性格[]

Alan BeckerがQ&A livestream で語ったところによれば、橙は「不器用な隊長[8]」らしい。

橙はvictimに似ているが、前に作られた二人とは異なり、橙はAlanのパソコンを勝手に動き回ったり、Alanに見つからないように動きを止めたりするなど、どちらかというと好奇心旺盛で悪戯好きなキャラクターとして描かれている。また、格闘技も好きで、Fighting Stick Figuresに乱入する等、落ち着きのなさも強調されている。ただ、The Dark Load などとは異なり、権力への欲はなく、Alan への悪戯もただ単に面白いからやっている、という面が強い。

橙は仲間思いであり、一緒にバトルできる友達を欲しがっている。特にAnimator vs Animation第四話で顕著であり、アラン・ベッカー氏のパソコンを破壊した動機の面から見ても、選ばれし者は自分の自由のために戦ったのに対し、橙は自分の友達達を消したアランへの復讐という面が強く、またその破壊もどこか子供の悪戯のような面が見て取れる。その他にもViraBotsの襲撃の時には自分の友達を殺されかけた怒りで超能力を発動させていた。

橙は勇敢な性格でもある。例を挙げれば、強くなった闇の帝王に対して力の差を承知で戦いを挑んでいたり、それでいてViraBot 撃退後にはTCOに対して感謝の気持ちを示したりしている (橙が到着しなければ闇の帝王の Virabot を使った作戦がほぼ成功だったにもかかわらず)。 ただ、"The Roller Coaster"では黄のジェットコースターに乗るのを怖がったり、また、"Wanted"では Mercenaries と戦いたがらなかったりなど、少し怖がりな一面を見せることもある。ただ、これは橙なりの「仲間を危険にさらしたくないが、仲間が危険であるなら助けなければならない」という考えがあってのことであるようだ。

また、橙は仲間思いな性格だが、Purpleがゲームコードを使ってLeague of LegendsでStick Gangsを苦しめたときなどでも最終的に和解して一緒に遊んでいたりするいるように、敵のことを許す寛容さもあるようである。 また、別の例を挙げれば、King Orange が Minecraft の世界を破壊しようとした時も、Minecraft の破壊を止めた後、Purpleから現状を知らされたKing Orange が王冠を投げ捨て、素直に自分の罪を認めたときには他のメンバー同様素直に和解している。

橙の性格を総合的に言い表すならば、橙は「仲間思いな勇敢で、人を許せるリーダー的存在」であるだろう。

能力など[]

全体としてThe Chosen OneやThe Dark Lordほど強くなく、また、橙の戦闘スタイルはVictimのそれに近い。

橙の戦闘の才能は高く、Fighting Stick Figures達と4対1という不利な状況で勝負した時も橙は勝っているため、戦闘が得意だと推測される。橙はもともと戦闘が好きなようだが、AvAシリーズ第4話以降から普段はAlanのアニメ制作を手伝うことにし、パソコンを破壊したりせず戦闘棒人間4人との戦いで満足している。[9]

橙は青達4人組がTDLによって消去され、更にはTCOが複数台のViraBotやViraブレードによって一方的に攻撃される、という危機的状況に陥った際、初めて橙自身の隠されたスーパーパワーを使用し、アラン・ベッカーとStick Gangs全員の力を合わせても倒せなかったTDLやVirabotsを一掃した。なお、後の描写から、橙自身もこのスーパーパワーについて知らなかった様子。

なお、その際TSCから放たれていた胞子は第11話でVictimが放っていたそれと酷似しており、また同エピソードにて一瞬映り込んだポスターによると、"Green Life Particles[10]"とも呼ばれている。

固有の能力[]

これらの能力の殆どは他の非人工的な棒人間達のそれと共通している。

  • Combat Skills: The Second Coming is the best fighter compared to the fighting stick figures, easily besting them during their first spar. He has above-average strength, as shown in Animation vs. League of Legends where he managed to glitch out the game more than Purple did. Even when Red held his own against The Second Coming in "Lush Caves", he was eventually bested.
  • Agility: The Second Coming is an unusually fast runner and can maneuver very quickly, even being able to leap bounds on to and across walls.
    • Wall Scaling: The Second Coming can scale up walls barehanded to a certain point.
  • Health: The Second Coming, like most stick figures, is very durable and resilient, and cannot be harmed easily.
  • Intelligence: The Second Coming can interestingly learn things very easily, most notably seen in both the original Animation vs. Minecraft and Animation vs. Math, showing a far quicker adaptable learning method than people in real life, similar to a child who can pick up on things much quicker than full grown adults. Even among other stick figures, he seems to be particularly intelligent.

非覚醒状態の能力[]

  • Creation: The Second Coming is the only stick figure we see that can make other living, moving animations like himself. No other character has been able to do this so far besides Alan Becker.
    • Any attempts to recreate this by anyone other than The Second Coming (or Alan Becker) usually fail, as shown by one of victim's employees trying to use the pencil tool.
    • This is shown further in Animation vs. Physics, where he made objects such as rockets and apples from what seems to be strings of particles from a singularity, namely "1-Dimensional Open String".
  • Lexical Processing: The Second Coming can "speak" via text through Adobe Animate (similar to victim's ability).
  • Musical Prowess: The Second Coming can play music with great prowess, rivaling or exceeding the combined music of the Fighting Stick Figures, and a Musical Chicken.
    • Shockwave Emission: The Second Coming can summon a shockwave through his use of an electric guitar, as shown in the same video.
  • Deletion Immunity: The Second Coming is immune to deletion, by The Dark Lord's Wristband of Power, ViraBot's corrosive properties, and Windows Task Manager. He was even stabbed by The Dark Lord's corrosive Vira-Blades but was powerful enough to survive its deadly properties which instantly deleted his friends.
  • Educational Powers: In the series of Animation vs. Education, The Second Coming has the ability to control and manipulate anything that’s educational, such as geometry and math. This has only been seen in the Animation vs. Education series, however.
    • Physics Manipulation: As seen in Animation vs. Physics, The Second Coming has the ability to control and manipulate physics, though this is not shown elsewhere.
  • Speed: The Second Coming can run super fast. When the cursor was going after him, he zoomed and dived across the screen. This ability was only seen in Animator vs. Animation 4, and may just be a byproduct of Alan's old animation style. In Animation vs. Physics, the output showed he ran 10 meters per second for a period of time (which is world-class).

Towards the climax of The Showdown - Animator vs. Animation 8, The Second Coming awakens his long hidden powers. The exact catalyst for their awakening isn't fully understood but it is likely triggered by immense emotional and/or physical distress, as seen when The Second Coming helplessly witnessed his friends being corroded away by The Dark Lord's Vira-Blades, the ViraBots defeating The Chosen One, and sustaining otherwise mortal injuries from the Vira-Blades upon attempting to fight back. It is possible for him to manifest his abilities subconsciously in minor distress, though his powers are significantly weaker.[11]

These new powers far surpass that of both The Dark Lord and The Chosen One himself, as they allowed The Second Coming to easily destroy The Dark Lord's ViraBot army before swiftly proceeding to overpower and defeat him as well despite the fact that his powers were greatly enhanced by the Wristband of Power, something that Alan and The Chosen One didn't even come close to doing even when fighting together (while they were successfully able to stalemate The Dark Lord alone for a time, they were defeated fairly quickly once he was assisted by his ViraBots). The drawback to this immense power, however, is that The Second Coming himself currently has no conscious control over them whatsoever, and for a long time was completely unaware that he even had them, with the nature of how he unlocked his abilities leaving him with no memories whatsoever of using them.

Not only does their intensity far outmatch that of both The Chosen One and The Dark Lord, but in comparison to The Chosen One and The Dark Lord's respective ability sets, The Second Coming's abilities seem to manifest as green energy versus The Chosen One's more varied ability coloration and The Dark Lord's primarily red and orange attacks.

While The Second Coming was previously oblivious to his powers, due to Alan's cursor and The Fighting Stick Figures having been corroded away by The Dark Lord's virus powers before they could see the battle, the only ones who knew the truth for a while about The Second Coming's unfathomable potential are The Chosen One, Kirby, and The Dark Lord (the latter depending on whether The Dark Lord survived the blast). However, while victim was scanning The Chosen One's memories using the memory scanner in Animator vs. Animation Season 3, everyone that was looking at it witnessed The Chosen One's memories of The Second Coming's immense power when he defeated The Dark Lord. This includes victim, the Mercenaries, and even The Second Coming himself. While this means that The Second Coming himself is now aware of his potential, it is doubtful that he currently knows how to unlock it or what provoked it.

Listed below are the current known abilities that he can use when his power is awakened (because they were shown for a very brief time, the current list of his abilities and their descriptions is partially speculative, and he may have more abilities that we currently do not know):

  • Hyper Speed: The Second Coming can move at hypersonic speed, so fast it can appear as if he was teleporting; striking The Dark Lord multiple times so quickly that he didn't even have time to react.
  • Extreme Strength: The Second Coming gained immense strength from the awakening of his powers, shown when he punched The Dark Lord a significant distance away before The Dark Lord retaliated with the ViraBots, and completely overpowering The Dark Lord shortly after.
  • Telekinesis: He is capable of moving even heavy objects without making contact with them. He was able to levitate a giant stone larger than his own body and hurl it hundreds of meters across The Dark Lord's hideout. This stone had green lightning underneath it while it was being lifted, which implies that The Second Coming could have electrokinesis, though this is unconfirmed.
  • Flight: The Second Coming is capable of flight without having to rely on the fire from his limbs, and appeared during the brief time shown to have much greater speed and dexterity within the air than both The Chosen One and The Dark Lord.
  • Laser Vision: The Second Coming is capable of emitting a hyper-powerful green laser from his "eyes", far greater than those produced by The Chosen One and even the enhanced Dark Lord. It was capable of cutting through the earth and decimating a mountain a large distance away.
  • Code Restoration: The Second Coming can restore entities that are deleted by viruses, such as the Vira-Blade's corrosion, using a computer in conjunction with his dormant powers. He was able to recreate the code for the Fighting Stick Figures simply by using touching the keyboard, bringing them back to life despite their having been completely destroyed by The Dark Lord's Wristband of Power.
  • Regenerative Healing Factor: When The Second Coming first accessed his abilities, he was able to heal the very deep wounds inflicted on him during The Dark Lord's attack on him in a matter of seconds.
  • Energy Manipulation: The Second Coming similar the The Chosen One can augment his own strength by channeling energy to his fist for a stronger attack. He was briefly shown with glowing energy around his fists while fighting The Dark Lord, which he repeatedly used to enhance his physical attacks on him. He also managed to use a burst of energy to destroy the swarm of ViraBots attacking him.

豆知識等[]

  • 橙はシリーズファンなどからよく「選ばれし者の再臨」と言われているにもかかわらず、橙が本編中で「選ばれし者の再臨」と言われたことは一度しかない。
    • また、公式作品での使用頻度などから考えると、「選ばれし者の再臨」より「橙」の方が"正しい"名前なのかもしれない。
  • "The Second Coming"という名前はThe Chosen Oneの後継者ということを指している。実際、Animator vs. Animation 4のファイル画面では橙は"The Chosen One's Return"[13]と表記されていた。
  • Animation vs Youtube にて、赤青黄が諸事情で戦えない中、緑は橙と一緒にYoutubeと戦ってくれたため、橙は緑の事が最も好きなようである。このことは、ポップコーンを買うときの一幕だったり、ネザーポータルの一連の流れ、等から推測することができる。
  • 橙と緑はお互いの体色と同じ色のサングラスを着ける描写が多々ある。橙がサングラスを着けている場面はSkyBlockやAnimation vs. Trashで、緑がサングラスを着けている場面はA Special SongやGreen Stick FigureのVlog through Minecraft 等の作品で見ることが出来る。
  • 橙は緑と同じ程度、もしくはそれ以上、音符ブロックを使った演奏が上手い。
  • 橙のMinecraftに関する知識量は不明だが、演奏や回路作り(回路作りに関しては黄から教えてもらったものの)、クラフトを上手くこなしている所から察するに、相当Minecraftの才能があることが分かる。
  • 橙は頻繁に"Orange"とアランベッカー氏に呼ばれており、特にリアクションビデオではそう呼ばれる傾向にある。[14]
    • また、"インフルエンサー・アーク"編では、橙が緑等からも"Orange"と言われている事が判明した。"[15]
  • 橙は特殊能力を持つ3番目の棒人間であり、Animator vs. Animation Season 2編でThe Dark Lordを止めるために特殊能力を使用した事がある。
  • 橙は特殊能力込みならばAnimator vs. Animation franchiseシリーズの中で最も"強い"棒人間であるものの、自分の意志で特殊能力を解放することは出来ない為、普段の戦闘力はFighting Stick Figuresと同レベルである。
  • 橙達5人組はGildedguyのビデオにカメオ出演しており、その時にはGildedguy&the Green-Eyed Cowboyと呼ばれている。.[16]
  • 橙の初登場はAnimator vs. Animation 4であり、その時は後のアラン氏の作品と比べて身長が高かった。
  • 橙はアラン氏が作成したため、他の戦闘棒人間(赤、青、等)達とは頭の形が違う。(頭の真ん中が穴になっていて透けている、等)
    • "Color Confusion"では、体色が青と同じ水色に変化し、頭の空洞が塗りつぶされたことがある。
  • 普段橙は音楽を演奏するよりも寝ることが好きなように描かれていたり、また、AvM ショート第二作での描写等もあってかあまり目立たないが、"Note Block Battle"や"The Warden"では見事な演奏を披露していた。
  • AvM ショート 第21話「The Witch」では、橙は棒人間の姿を最も長く維持していた。
  • 橙と緑と紫は人間の言葉で話すことが出来る非常に珍しいキャラクターである。しかしながら、橙は鼾や口笛などの意味を持たない音声しかなく、実際に人間と会話する際はFlash等の文字ツールを介してしか直接会話が出来ない。緑と紫はNote Block Universeで会話していたものの、その声は人間[17]には意味が伝わらない音楽的な声だったため、人間と直接音声を介して会話が出来る棒人間は存在しないようだ。
    • ただ、"Music Lesson"では、緑はNote Block Universeの世界でないにもかかわらず体から直接音を出していた。
  • 何らかの理由で、"The Virus"での橙の会話は全て大文字で表記されていた。参考までに、Animator vs. Animation 4ではそういった描写は見られなかった。また、橙は文章中に句読点をあまり使わない傾向にある。
  • Animation vs. Physicsでは、橙の体重は50kg、橙の最高速度は10m/s[18]、橙の大体の身長は1.8m[19]であることが分かる。
