So I recently started watching Gildedguy (and became a huge fan of it). I then watched some teasers for Animation Versus again and I realised that the P2/Mirror character for TSC kinda looks like Gildedguy himself.

Obviously because of the yellow color, but also his green pencil tool. For those who don't know, Gildedguy has two very iconic weapons, his red sword that he can extend to ridiculous lengths and his stellapen, aka the green pen seen in the second image below.

If it's intentional, it's a really cool reference Alan made and I'm glad Gildedguy gets to be referenced in the game in any way. I do wonder if some of the other P2 colors could also be references to other stick figure animations.

So today we got a sneak peek of the dark lord in animator versus and oh boy am I excited to play as him.

It is in its concept phase but so far he looks amazing!

Sooo... AvG just released the results from the second annual Popularity Poll!! How do our favorite characters stack up against each other? Well, nearly 57,000 people, myself included, voted, so let's see who came out on top while who doesn't have much love. (Also, numbers in parentheses reflect the change from 2024's popularity poll, "Unr." standing for "unranked")

1. Corn Dog Guy - 9,888 votes (+1) I swear, I am going to go to this stick's house, or apartment, wherever he lives, and cover his entire floor with Legos. There is NO REASON WHATSOEVER that this stupid stick is #1. He's not funny, there's nothing special about him, all he is is a corn dog vendor. That's literally it. And yet he got almost 10,000 votes, 17.36% of the final tally... This angers me to no end, I'm seriously frustrated. Can these trolls just stop voting for him? Or, better yet, can he not show up in these polls? I hate how he gets this much love when he's NOT FUNNY and yet Yellow isn't even in the top 10. No justice in this poll, none whatsoever. Ya know what? Nope, this guy is last place and everyone else moves up one spot. Congrats, #2, you're now #1! Well done!

2. The Second Coming - 8,362 votes (-1) Ain't no WAY SC failed to repeat as #1. He's the main character, the hero, and he's not #1? He's not #1 for me because Purple exists, but I would've imagined SC would return to his gold podium. Sadly no, he has to settle for silver, conceding his placement to a character who, frankly, doesn't deserve it. Not in the slightest.

3. No One - 5,328 votes (0) No One made it this far. Not the character I would've "Chosen," but 5300 people did, evidently. He resecures a bronze metal once again, and it's not even close. No surprise he's this high. Now if only the most disrespected stick in Alan's arsenal can get the same love from Alan as those 5300 people who voted for him.

4. Dark - 4,110 votes (+2) While I once thought of him as very flat, and I still kinda do, just not as much, Beta really helped change my mind. A bit. Dark is, to put it simply, a ruthless, destructive, power-hungry stick. He's like the Lord Shen of Alan's universe, just without the depth. He rose in the rankings, too, by 1,566 votes, so that's very impressive. Me personally, I prefer the depth of El Rey and Vic to Dark, hands down.

5. Green - 3,514 votes (-1) My least favorite member of the main five, Green hits the top 5, probably because of his YouTuber days. Nonetheless, I still love Green, even despite his arrogance, and his redemption of Purple warms my heart. I do love his music, his Rush E performance was electric, so credit where credit's due. He's the second most popular member of the Gang, just like last year.

6. Red - 3,102 votes (-1) Reddy Bear! The sweetheart that wouldn't hurt a fly, but would hurt a stick in nine different ways. Red's my third favorite character, so no surprise that he's in this area. He took a small hit to his ranking, but he got more votes than last time, so I can let that slide. Give him a hug, we all love Reddy Bear! Especially my OC Candy...

7. Purple - 3,024 votes (+2) Well well, look who overtook his father (albeit by 46 votes, so a close race between the two Tangos) in the poll? Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Purple. he's my favorite character, so seeing him get more love and 831 more votes since the last one makes me happy. What doesn't make me happy is the fact that one character in particular is above him... But as for Purple himself, I love ya, buddy. Thanks for being a reminder of my story.

8. King Orange - 2,978 votes (0) No change here, El Rey is still just as loved as ever, even more so since he got 651 more votes than last time. Much like Vic, who doesn't love a powerful, gripping antagonist? And his relationship with Purple is so sweet to see... If only we could see more of it... I need to to happen, Alan! Please? But he is coming back for AvM S5? YESSSSSSSSSSS!

9. Blue - 2,960 votes (-2) It's a shame Blue got knocked down a couple of pegs, as AvAddiction is, IMO, one of Alan's most powerful episodes. Regardless, Blue is rightfully in the top 10, and he's Yellow's bestie. Who doesn't love his dynamic with Yellow? And his archery skills? And his comedically over the top Netherwart addiction? ... Maybe he should get help for that...

10. Victim - 2,711 votes (+1) Our first riser in the poll, Vic too crushed it by tripling his vote count from last year, and then some. Who doesn't love an incredible, powerful, gripping, and moving antagonist? I agree, Vic deserves a spot around here, he might've even been higher if Hacker was released before the poll ended. Maybe Hacker can hack these results to put him and Mitz in the top 2 spots.

11. Mitsi - 2,511 votes (Unr.) She almost broke the top half, despite her seemingly mixed opinions. Me personally, I love Mitz. She's so sweet, kind, and I finally have someone to ship! (More girls, please, Alan) I'd put her around here, but in a perfect world, Yellow would be above her. 100%

12. Yellow - 1,970 votes (-2) Look how they massacred my boy... This ranking is so frustrating to me. He's my second favorite character, he got an episode all to himself, he's one of the Gang, and yet characters like Corn Dog Guy are above him? Yellow needs a lot more love than he gets. I mean, c'mon. Not even in the top 10? I'm not even angry, just sad and annoyed... At least he got 181 more votes than he had before... I'm with Skim, give this nerd some love!

13. Agent - 1,446 votes (-1) Same ranking as last time... if Mitsi wasn't in this poll. Much like some other characters, the number of votes he got also tripled. He's gained many followers over the past year, evidently. Perhaps the episode Victim should take some credit for that.

14. Node/Eye - 1,150 votes (Unr.) Very impressive for their first appearance ever on these polls. I guess people, like me, love some powerful-looking antagonists. But I don't see how they could be higher since, like conductor, we know very little about them. We don't even know their real name yet. Take the 14th place and run, Node.

15. Hazard - 1,137 votes (-2) Copy-paste the reason for his drop by two spots... yada yada yada... The number of votes he got almost tripled from Year 1 to Year 2. Men (As I like to call him) is actually my favorite Merc, but he doesn't compare to other characters, not even close.

16. Bob - 1,012 votes (-2) Much like Ballista, Bob's drop is due to two new characters not on last year's poll. And the number of votes he got more than tripled. Me personally, not a fan of Bob. I don't like how he abuses Green, even if it is kinda funny at times, so yeah, he can stay in that hole where Green put him... and at the bottom of this poll where he belongs.

17. Ballista - 650 votes (-2) Ballista must've gained a cult following this past year, as his vote count has more than doubled since the last poll. He dropped, yes, but that's because two new characters, Node and Mitz, are above him. But with that being said, it's another Merc. I personally don't feel strongly one way or the other about them, I don't love them, I don't hate him, and now he's locked behind a door that's welded shut. I guess he's never getting out of the basement of this poll, either.

18. Conductor - 445 votes (Unr.) This is a bit surprising, especially considering Bob is above her, but I guess it makes sense, we have seen literally nothing from her outside of some art and a few details about her personality. She's probably the blankest slate of them all, but I figure once we learn more about her, she'll move up in the rankings, at least slightly. Also, she's a confirmed to be a girl, so YESSSSSSSS! Finally more girl sticks! Hopefully she doesn't die like Pink and Mitz.

19. CaveStick - 370 votes (-3) Everyone's least favorite Merc returns, and apparently he's still near the bottom of the barrel. He was dead last the year before, so there's some improvement, and managed to get more than 100 votes, but there's nothing much else to say. I really don't care about him too much, no surprises here.

20. Worker - 250 votes (Unr.) Not much of a surprise here, these little unnamed Rocket Corp. guys are just that, unnamed clones. We haven't seen much from them other than they can't go one-v-one against the FSF and them doing their job, so understandable last place.

He literally just pushed all of the characters that were full of plot, main villains, true protagonists, and just pushed that aside and just makes a profit off of corn dogs.

Okay so AvG just put out the new popularity poll (cdg won again ugh) there’s also some cool art that they looked at but there were a few things that caught my eye

1. Supposedly one of conductors moves for Animation versus is a large wrench move

2. AvM season 5 is confirmed and for all you king lovers, yes he will be returning to play a role.

3. Hazard appears to be nonbinary as they/them pronouns (and the woman in AvA12)

We got an update for Animation VERSUS! Let's see what the devs have for us. First of all, a new stage!!

Say hello to a new stage! No doubt the fourth and final stage in The Showdown Lake arena, and it looks AWESOME! The attention to detail is off the charts! I love the details of the hole Dark made when Chosen punched him through it, the lower level where the ViraBots used to be, the deep red in that lower middle area, (possibly a nod to the ViraBots) the details in the sky, it all comes together incredibly. Imagine playing as Chosen and Dark here. That's gonna be AWESOME! Oh wait, we don't have to imagine it. Well, not too much. Allow me to explain.

This update revealed a first look at The Chosen One, some of his moves, and oh boy, he seems as powerful as his namesake would imply. He can breathe a burst of fire, shoot lasers, deliver an electrical uppercut and even shoot a powerful burst from himself a move from AvA6 or AvA9, I can't remember which. These are all rough drafts, presumably, but if this is any indication, El Mucha-Cho is gonna be... fire. (Pun intended)

This update also brought us some more moves for Purple. He has some firework moves where he tosses one from the ground, hitting down low at close and medium ranges, and up high at long range. He also can do the opposite of that, tossing a firework from up high and landing it down low, like Yellow shooting code diagonally down. He also has a sideways corkscrew attack that looks AWESOME! I can't wait to get my play as him!

I wonder if Animation Versus will be shielded by a kanome in the Alan Becker universe and is it possible that "Node" and "Conductor" will appear in the series?

And is it possible that Agent Smith and his team of Mercenaries will appear in the future, either as enemies/bosses in Animation Versus or as playable characters?

ive been looking at eye's design a lot recently, and realised something [that very well could mean nothing]. eye's nodes remind me of neurons, albiet very simplified ones that just show the soma and axon. that being said, this could be very interesting if intentional, as neurons are the way the body transmits information about things like sensations, the brain's commands for movement, et cetera. im probably reaching, but it's still interesting.

The Kickstarter funding has finally finished, and it blew my expectations out of the water.

It made a mad dash, a final sprint, a last-second surge to get to a million, and though it came close, it could not reach that milestone, falling $1,359 short. No shame in that, though. Raking in $998,641 when the goal was $130k is nothing short of incredible, and if you had told me last week that this Kickstarter would pull in almost a million, I would probably strongly disagree. I am so excited to see the final product. Considering all the love and support that is going into it, I'm sure this will be like Po the kung fu panda... "I've done AWESOME!"

im sure perrito will have more because he tends to be there when we get new info, but those are some of the things ive gathered and my silly little thoughts on some of them :3

The mysterious magenta character that was just revealed in the livestream, I’ll call him conductor (it might not be a him, could be a her).

So currently in a lot of concept arts and cover of animation VERSUS, the internet is the background (similar to what we are seeing in AVA 11). A lot of the time there are also bullet trains showed, flying through the space.

Now, in one of the concept arts, the conductor is driving a bullet train, with red and yellow sitting in it. There is also another two pictures showing “white”, the second coming, and the conductor. Seems like that the conductor is a protagonist, who’s power is using his vehicles.

Those two pieces of concept art are also leads me to my other theory about story mode. “White” could be the villian in story mode who is trying to destroy the internet. Yes, kind of like what TCO and TDL did, but “white” isn’t wrecking the sites themselves like the two hollow heads. Instead, he could be breaking the connections between sites, computers, and other stuff.

Last theory, “white” and the conductor will appear in the actual AVA series.

At the end of the episode “bedwars” (which just premiered a few moments ago), we can see the figures of the new characters…

So far we can see TCO with fire, TDL with his vira blade, victim standing alone. King orange is wearing royal cloth and holding a gold staff instead of his regular command block staff…

We also see “white” as a taller stick figure like king orange with nodes around him. The other unknown character wears a hat… who could that be?

We did it, everyone! The Animation VERSUS kickstarter has now exceeded 760k! Every goal has been achieved! 12 characters, 9 stages, 1 Roguelite mode with 4 extra levels, 1 story mode, and interactive online lobbies! It's astounding this thing has taken off to the level it has, but oh boy, I'm glad it did! I am super eager to get my paws on this game! I just hope life will allow me to play it.

I lowkey doubt this but is this true?
