Perrito rolled up in his signature tank, though it was looking a bit more banged-up than in weeks past. He hopped out of it onto the taskbar, Red right behind him.
“Well, Week 15 is in the books.” He called. “How is everyone today?”
“I know you’re excited, Purrito.” Red teased. Perrito smiles at him.
“We have a winning streak.” Perrito answered, putting his “victory sombrero” on. “Even better, we might have a franchise QB for the first time since Brees retired. I was embracing the tank, but now, we might have something going.”
“Well I’m glad one of us does…” Candy muttered. “Shut out by the Ravens, and rumors are swirling about our QB leaving… If he does and our coach stays, I’m done with this team.”
“You’re not the only one who’s having problems with their former first overall draft pick at QB.” Red sympathized. “At least the writing is on the wall for us, Kyler’s out the door.”
“Can you keep Brissett for next year?” Perrito begged. “Trey McBride has been feasting for me in fantasy because of him.” Red chuckles.
“Hopefully we’ll find someone even better.” He smiled. “Anyways, Purple, congrats on the win.”
“Thanks, Red.” Purple replied. “I wish it wasn’t against a friend, but that’s her fault for liking a division rival.”
“Hey, I like the trash talk.” Candy smirked.
“Speaking of division rivals…” Perrito began, grinning. “Losing to the Panthers? Never heard of her.” Green and Yellow rolled their eyes.
“You've been using that joke for weeks, dude.” Green sighed. “It’s old.”
“Besides, I do believe that the Rams have clinched a playoff spot, something you cannot claim to have done since 2020.” Yellow shot back.
“We also punched our ticket!” SC exclaimed. “Playoff Broncos, here we come! I just wish we didn’t have to do it by beating our best friends’ teams…”
SC and Yellow traded looks at Green and Blue, respectively.
“I’d rather lose to no one else than my bestie, Yellow over here.” Blue said, wrapping an arm around him. “Congrats on the win, buddy. If the Lions can’t reach the playoffs, there’s no other team I’d rather have than the Rams.”
“Much appreciated, True Blue.” Yellow replied gratefully.
“And, SC, I’m so stoked to see Denver in the playoffs.” Green added. “Maybe you’ll see Green Bay again in the Super Bowl, but… Micah Parsons…”
Everyone winced in pain.
“Dude reminded me of Aaron Rodgers on the Jets with the way his ACL snapped.” Perrito cringed.
“It got plucked like a guitar string, homie.” Green elaborated. “Prayers up for my GOAT, Parsons.”
“Hey, if my team can show anything…” Gold began, “it’s that anyone can overcome devastating injuries. I’m sure we’ll be seeing the Packers in the playoffs, just in time for their annual loss to the Niners in January.”
“Ha ha, very funny.” Green quipped.
“All three of us Tangos won!” King proclaimed, hugging his kids. “The Vikings were eliminated, though, but if my two kids can reach the playoffs, it’ll be worth it.”
“I’m pretty sure we’re gonna be seeing me in there, Dad.” Gold claimed. “I’m not so sure about Purple, though…”
“Week 18 will decide a lot. … Probably.” Purple sighed.
“The playoff picture is taking shape.” Perrito called. “And, let’s enjoy the fact that the Chiefs will not be in it.”
“YES!” SC exclaimed. “Finally, we have a chance to reach the Super Bowl!”
“Well, most of us have a chance…” Candy sighed. “Red, I could use a laugh.”
Red smiled at her.
“You guys go on without me.” Red insisted. “My bestie needs me, and to be honest, I could use a good chuckle, too.”
“Good luck next week, everyone!” Perrito called as he clambered back into his tank.
