Here we go, peeps!

Third person POV
Purple almost literally flew out of their house, spraying Minecraft firework particles everywhere, and frankly, into their own face. “See you in an hour, King!” they yelled to the orange stick looking up and waving, growing increasingly smaller as they gained altitude. The brisk, cool Outernet air whipped their long hair and fed their elytra some lift to help with easy coasting.
Hundreds of miles of farmland stretched out before the purple stick figure, translucent aquamarine and pastel green folds of the Minecraft item catching the sun’s rays. As it produced a warm, heavenly glow, Purple swooped down and landed expertly on the grass next to their destination. Storing the insect-like wings in their inventory, they stepped inside the fenced off area, eyes immediately flicking over the words in the dirt they’ve read thousands of times.

May your family find you in the afterlife
And may you find them
REST IN PEACE
“Hey, mama,” they whispered, kneeling, carefully taking out a potted cherry blossom sapling and placing it on the foot of the makeshift grave marker in front of them. “It’s May 12. And it’s Mother’s Day this year.”
Placing a hand on the top of the bound wood, Purple continued in a low, soothing voice. “I wanna tell you how much I miss you and how happy I wa- I mean, I am, to have you in my life.. Happy birthday, you’re turning 27.. I wanted to give you this.” They laid a card in the soft soil next to the pink plant.
“Anyway.. I have so much to tell you. Last night at the sleepover, Green accidentally -or maybe not accidentally, more like deliberately- tripped Red who was helping Blue carry a pie for desert. It splattered everywhere and Second had to go yell Green off.. I guess it was a way of getting Red back for shoving a cake in his face. It was partially my fault, heh..” Purple smiled, shifted their weight and resting the palms of their hands on their knees.
“We were also hoping to take a trip to Stick!City today, too.” They stayed there for a couple more minutes, just chatting and telling Orchid about what’s been happening at the PC. “Oh, did I tell you about that time when King almost died trying to get the hang of a spare elytra?”
The minutes turned into an hour and soon the aforementioned stick came into the cemetery. “Purps, it’s nearly 10- oh,” he called, walking fast but slowing his pace when he saw Purple looking at the wooden cross.
“Hey, King. Did the gang call?” They frowned, pulling out their phone and checking the chat. Twelve messages awaited them. “Huh, must’ve missed it.”
“Yeah, kiddo. Second told me to tell you that they’re at the lunch place,” he said, crossing the pathway and ruffling Purple’s hair gently. His fingers caught on their braid. He knew what it meant to them so he pulled away, muttering a sorry under his breath, feeling ashamed.
“Nah, it’s okay,” they reassured him. “I should get going, though.” With that, they slipped on their elytra, clasping the front button and watching them unfurl. “Bye, mama, bye..,” Purple’s gaze landed on King. “Bye, dad. I’ll see you at 4 for the little ceremony. Promise.”
Crouching, they took out a firework and lit it, sending them in a corkscrew spin up into the air once more. They flew in the direction of Stick!City, leaving King staring after them in shock.

Purple did come back in time for an early dinner, swooping close to the cemetery again for a flyby. They landed on the porch, ringing the doorbell obnoxiously so many times it reminded them of what they used to do when they were younger.
King opened the door, an annoyed-up-to-here expression plastered on his face. He faltered as he saw Purple’s fake pout and burst out laughing, swinging the entrance wider to allow them access. “You really try hard to make me laugh, don’t you?” He reached out a hand to ruffle Purple’s hair again.
“Yep, and I think I’m doing my job well,” they smiled back, taking the other’s arm off of their head and leading him toward the kitchen. They started to get two mugs out and the cocoa powder from the pantry.
“Hot chocolate?” King guessed, crossing the living room to help, Purple shooing him away with a look that said ‘go sit on the couch’. “Okay, okay, fine..” He backed up with his arms raised in surrender, taking a seat. He watched every move intently to make sure they didn’t get burned or hurt in the process.
Purple, at the kitchen counter, held up two packets of chocolate powder. One was dark cocoa and the other was milk chocolate. Which one to use? They honestly didn’t like anything too sweet or too bitter..
A mix of both it is. Not after long, two steaming mugs of cocoa were prepared (with marshmallows, of course), Purple bringing one to King. They both stood up and went back to the cemetery.
The mango-colored stick figure knelt down on one knee next to a small gravestone. He smiled to himself. “Here, Gold, Purple put lots of marshmallows in your cup, just how you like it..” He took a sip and nestled the mug into the dirt, placing a hand on top of the cold stone slab.
Purple also knelt, taking a sip of the hot chocolate. “Hi again, mama. I really hope you’re having a good time today.. I wanted to tell you about what the gang and I did, but it would take away from you.” They looped the end of their braid around their ring finger absentmindedly, looking above the gravemarker and at the IP addresses above.
The sun started to set over the horizon, the last faint specks of light dimming and giving way to the moon’s reign. Stars started to come out, twinkling, appearing like an ocean in the midst of a changing sky- an ombre of pinks, purples, oranges, and yellows.
“I love you, Gold..,” King whispered. “I love you, mama,” Purple said softly, staring at the shifting colors.
“Forever.”
And as the sun completely disappeared below the hilly landscapes and rushing streams, as the moon gave off a comforting silky glow, the wind blew the fluffy petals of the cherry blossom tree through the cemetery, the current carrying them away into the night.
